Whenever the ability of God is spoken of, it is always in superlative terms. Eph. 3:20. There is no amount of word you can put together to capture it. God can only be limited by your resistance and resistance comes from the carnal (unregenerate) will of man.
Text – Psalm 40:1-5.
Vs 1 – “I waited patiently for the Lord and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry”.
Anywhere God intervenes, there is wonder and if it is not wonderful then it cannot be God. Take note that the only thing that is required here, the only thing that produced all the miracles is the word “waited”. This is a purposeful waiting, focus. Spiritual power has been defined as focus. That is why anything that fights your focus wants to neutralize your power. Nobody walks into the presence of God anyhow. There is a protocol.
Waiting is one of the most difficult things to do today. A lot of people wants ‘to do’ to become. This is a lie of the devil. You don’t do to become, you ‘be to do’. Dan. 11:32b says “but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits”. There is heavenly protocol and you have to be brought into His presence. Jesus is the way – John 14:6. Anyone who has missed Christ has missed everything. Philosophers say that all ways lead to heaven. Yes. But not all ways lead to God. They were referring to the atmospheric heaven. To get to the heaven of heavens where God dwells, you must be ushered in.
Why do you have to wait? You wait for Mr flesh to die. Anything done in the flesh cannot please God. The realm of the spirit begins when Jesus becomes so real that your sin, self, sickness, anxiety, worries, issues disappears. The only thing that matters is Jesus. There are things that you need to throw away for your miracle to happen and if you want to begin to do exploits.
What does wait mean? It means to keep quiet. You can be quiet physically but internally there are many voices. Someone once said that there are three voices that attack people’s harvest – first is the voice of greed, second, the voice of need and third, the voice of seed. Every seed has a coded language to multiply but the seed has to be released. The only people that God cannot touch are those who are full of self. We need to learn how to practice the presence of God in spite of distractions. It is in His presence that you can find the fullness of joy and joy is a fruit of the spirit. He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit. The moment the Lord quickens you, your spirit and His spirit unite and life in the spirit is the only life that God accepts.
Vs 2 – “He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, .. my goings”. God wants you to come up.
The key is ‘wait’. God has the ability to x-ray your heart and pick what is there. In the place of prayer, God listens more to what your heart is saying than what your mouth is saying. The only place that God can take you is up; when God is lifting, no power can pull you down. God specializes in lifting people but the devil specializes in pulling people down and throwing them into a dry pit. Zech. 9:11 – “as for thee also by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water”. That is where the devil wants to put people.
Everywhere Jesus manifested, he went about lifting people. The man at the pool of Bethesda had an encounter with the One that was anointed to lift and he was lifted, the woman with the issue of blood was lifted after a purposeful touch, the ten lepers were lifted after an encounter with Jesus. There is no limit to the extent that God can go to lift people, it does not matter what medical practitioners say about the matter, when He steps in, your story will change. Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever. Jesus was transforming lives everywhere he went and he left His disciples to continue. The ugly situation at the Beautiful Gate in Acts 3 was lifted and the man began to display the glory of God.
Vs 3 – “And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God … trust in the LORD”.
God wants His children to have songs. Isa. 30:29 says “ye shall have a song”. When God begins to give you songs, it means that He has stepped into the matter; He has fought for you and all you need do is to cheer Him. And as long as you begin to sing those songs, you will have victory. You will fight many wars but lose none because you are more than a conqueror.
Worship is the highest form of warfare. Many are not effective in warfare today because they are fighting too many wars by the flesh, they have not learnt to worship. When you worship, God takes over the battle. The storm that pulled others down will lift you. It is those who know their God that will do exploits, for those who don’t know their God, their hearts will fail them and they will be exploited.
Vs 4 – Blessed is the man that maketh the LORD his trust … turn aside to lies”.
Maketh means one that makes a habit of trusting God. Your trust is a measure of your faith; your waiting is a measure of your confidence in God and God rewards faith.
Vs 5 – “Many, O LORD my God are thy wonderful works which thou hast done … they are more than can be numbered”.
The blessings of God are innumerable. God is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond our expectation. There are multiple dimensions of His moves. It is time for unbelievers to say ‘I want to know your God’. Jesus is a game changer and if you are connected to Him, you will become a game changer. What God wants to give you is multiple blessings that will shut the mouth of your accusers. You will have comprehensive blessings in Jesus name.
There is an airlift that is coming. Every passing movement takes us closer to that day. 1 Thes. 4:16-17 says “for the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God … and so shall we ever be with the Lord”. Take note that:
- The rapture is going to be a selective encounter;
- It is an imminent encounter;
- It is going to be sudden;
- It is going to be final
The question is if it happens now, will you fly? Whatever God has deposited in you, release it. We shall pass through this place but once, if there be anything you need to do, start doing it now.
It is time for us to stop getting ready; it is time to start living ready.
