DOMINION OVER DARKNESS (PART V) OVERCOMING THE SEVEN HEADS OF LEVIATHAN

2. The leviathan head of death. Lucifer thought he could use this head to make himself invincible but Jesus Christ broke all of leviathan heads at Calvary cross. Death is swallowed up in victory. The leviathan head of death inflicts both physical and spiritual death. Death is nothing but separation. Anyone who is separated from Christ is dead even if he is alive. Physical death is when the soul and spirit separate from the body. For someone who is connected to Christ, it is welcome to heaven, another life begins. There is an anointing that flows from Christ that has shattered death. For many, it is the fear of death that drives them into all manner of evil covenants; it is the fear of death that drives them into darkness and makes them to shake hands with native doctors, it is the fear of death that makes them to enthrone darkness as their shield. Heb. 2:14 says “For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil”. Glory to God, on the cross, the leviathan head of death was shattered comprehensively. Dominion over death is possible through Christ. It is part of our salvation package.

3. The leviathan head of blasphemy. The word ‘blaspheme’ means to malign, to cast aspersion, to speak evil of a divine personality. The root of blasphemy is pride and every carnal man has a bit of it. This causes carnal pride to rise and blaspheme against God who loved us so much that he died for us. Take a look at Exo. 5:1-2, you will see the manifestation of blasphemy. “And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness. And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD; neither will I let Israel go”. It is the same voice that challenges the word of God; it is the pride of man that makes man think that when God speaks, he should have an opinion. How can a creature have an opinion after the creator has spoken? Any time the word of God says something and you hold a different opinion, it is this spirit that is at work. The controversy over payment of tithe is a case in mind. Tithing is said to be an Old Testament doctrine. Jesus did not come to abolish the law. In what ways are you challenging the word of God? A lot of people treat the word of God like a supermarket where you can shop for items and buy whatever suits you. What is it that the Lord has been telling you to drop so that you may be blessed? Stop arguing; agree with God so that it may be well with you. You might not really ask “who is God” like Pharaoh did, but your attitude may connote it. How in your heart do you magnify God? Nobody disobeys an instruction until the person has devalued the instructor. Kings in the Bible that did this are Nebuchadnezzar and Herod; these are entities, representatives of darkness. When darkness has personified, it challenges God by challenging the word of God, by challenging Israel, by challenging the Church of God as well as the children of God.
