DOMINION OVER DARKNESS (PART VI) RULERS OF DARKNESS

The devil is not omnipresent but he has his agents everywhere; he strategizes to put his people in key positions. We have a case in hand right now; a principal of a school who happens to be a close friend of a Sister invited her over to her place and when the Sister was leaving, the principal packaged sweet and biscuits for her to give to her children claiming that she was celebrating her birthday. When the Sister got home, instead of giving the items to her children, she decided to eat everything. In the night, when she slept, she saw her spirit separating from her body and the next thing was that she found herself in a witchcraft coven. The head of the coven, on seeing her, was very furious saying who brought this woman here, she said she gave a charge to bring children and not an adult and that the sister should be sent back. That was how the sister returned to her body. If this Sister’s children had eaten the biscuit, they would have been initiated into witchcraft.

Parents, how do you insulate your children from being initiated into darkness? How many children have been initiated by this principal by virtue of her position? Who are the Chief Executive officers of organizations? There is what is called the spirit of the world and many people go for it. This is just one of the ways by which children are initiated. There is so much prevalence of drug abuse amongst students in higher institutions today even in private universities. How many of you know the state of your children? Darkness is real and spreading to overflow dimension everywhere. You must be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour. Verse 18 of our text says “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints”. Do you take time to pray for your children? How many families have the word of God dissected in their homes? In contrast, many Muslims ensure that by age seven, their children can recite the Quran.

Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. That is the only way to confront the agents of darkness that are all over the place. How much of the light of God do you carry? How much of the might of God are you connected to? If there is no connection, there cannot be any flow. How discerning are you? Do you just pray and don’t watch? Prov. 11: 22 says, “As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion”. Why is the devil interested in women? Why is the devil interested in children these days? It is strategic – catch them young and release them. We must be very careful about easy believism.

Peter was almost used by the devil but Jesus saw it and addressed it. Judas was used because he had something that opened the door to the devil – greed. You must put the blood of Jesus upon any gate, anything that is capable of opening the door to any demon in your life; you must not allow them. Many people break covenant at will. The Bible says that whoever breaks a hedge, serpent will bite. Give the devil no space. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Place value on your relationship with God, it is your most important relationship. Be a person of his presence. For every decision you make, there is a price. We, however, have a good news in Isa. 49:24-25 “shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the LORD, even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children”. Oba. 17 says, “But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions”.
