OVERFLOWING JOY

“Many sacrifices were offered on that joyous day, for God has given us cause for great joy. The women and children rejoiced too, and the joy of the people of Jerusalem was heard far away! ” (Nehemiah 12:43 TLB)

What a day of over flowing joy, the day the city wall of Jerusalem was rebuilt and dedicated to God. The project was completed despite daunting challenges by enemies.

The people spontaneously offered great sacrifice because God had given them cause for great joy. Everyone shared this joy men, women and even children. Their shout for joy was so loud that it was heard far away.

Joy is one of the many things money cannot buy. It is one of the components of the fruits of the spirit. (Galatians 5:22). The joy expressed by the people did not mean that every problem had been solved or that their enemies had disappeared. They realized that God was really with them in every situation, and because of that they could be joyful no matter any challenge.

There was a time they were discouraged, but somewhere along their experience, they discovered that “the joy of the lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). The joy that came from their faith in God empowered them to complete the rebuilding of the city wall of Jerusalem right in the presence of their enemies.

One of the things the devil specializes in fighting is joy. He is a sadist. He likes pushing people into the dry pit of depression. He knows you need joy to draw water from the wells of salvation (see Isiah 12:3)

Is the enemy trying to intimidate you? Has your joy been tampered with? Are you discouraged? Is the burden of challenges overwhelming? Trust in the Lord. Commit every situation to God. Obey His Word. Ask and receive winning strategies from Him. Be faithful with the resources you’ve been given. God wiil give you cause for great joy to over flowing dimension.

If you have not given your life to Christ, do so right now. Say the simple prayer below:

Dear Heavenly Father, I worship you. I acknowledge that I am a sinner. Please have mercy on me, and forgive all my sins. Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, I unreservedly surrender my life to you. I confess that you died and rose from the dead for me. Please be my Lord and personal saviour, and grant me the grace to live for you all the days of my life. Thank you so much Lord Jesus, I proclaim I am born again. Amen.

• Worship God for His goodness and mercies endure forever, His faithfulness to all generations.
• Sing praises to His Holy Name.
• Shout in triumph over your adversaries.
• Magnify the Lord who has promised in His holiness – we will rejoice.
• Celebrate Jesus.
• Ask God for mercy with regards to any toxic spiritual attitudes.
• Plead the blood of Jesus.
• Rededicate your life to Jesus Christ.
• Raise the blood of Jesus against the spirits of: discouragement, disappointment, fear, worry, anxiety.
• Commit every challenge confronting you to God.
• Exalt His Holy Name.
• Receive the grace to accomplish every assignment God has committed to you.

May your shout of joy be heard from far away in Jesus’ Name. Amen
