DOMINION OVER THE SPIRIT OF POVERTY

Take note that there is a price for disobedience and at times that price is costlier than the price of obedience. Disobedience is a major gateway to the spirit of poverty. The spirit of poverty is a very wicked and aggressive spirit that does not operate alone.  It comes with other wicked spirits such as disease, sickness, infirmity, disharmony, hardship and deterioration heading to death.

Poverty signifies darkness. The implication of this is that no one can actually have dominion over darkness if his or her resources are not strong enough to meet basic needs. Another way to look at what poverty connotes is that it means nothing but darkness with respect to resources. What does that mean? Many a times, people who are harassed by this spirit get into it not because there are not enough or that there are not enough opportunities or resources but because they are excluded from the portion of light that can connect them to the resources and as such they operate in the darkness of those needs. With all the resources at the disposal of many African nations, they have no business being poor.

The spirit of poverty is a kill joy spirit; it is a joy killer. It can kill joy to the extent that things that ordinarily should bring joy and celebration to people’s lives will ultimately lead to sorrow, thereby making the joy to be short-lived.

The spirit of poverty is a spirit of the valley that takes people down;it makes people sink until they start stinking. You must hate this spirit enough in order to deal with it summarily and terminate its operations in your life on a once and for all basis. Anyone this spirit touches will naturally go down. Whoever is carrying this anointing is carrying a very wicked anointing. One of the qualities of a good leader is that a good leader lifts people out of the valley; that was exactly what Jesus did by shedding his blood at Calvary. “As for thee also, by the blood thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water”. Zech.9:11.

Glory  to God. Everything that man lost in Adam has been restored in Christ Jesus. Gal. 3:13-14 and 29 says, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: that the blessings of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith”. Verse 29 says, “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise”. There are three dimensions to the curse of the law found in Deuteronomy  28:15-68. Verses 1-14 enumerate the blessings of obedience while verses 15-68 are curses for disobedience. A classification of these curses reveals three different levels which are: 1. death 2. Sickness and 3.Poverty, Scarcity and Lack. These three, however, work in tandem.

Dominion over this terrible and wicked spirit is not optional. Don’t rationalize it. You must not deal with it with kids gloves. It requires an aggressive treatment. Jesus has redeemed us from the curse of the law and from everything the devil packaged and delivered successfully in the Garden of Eden. Jesus neutralized each and everyone of them on the cross. So, there is hope. Dominion over the spirit of poverty is part of our redemption benefits. There is difference between dominion and deliverance.  Before you can have dominion over something, you must have been delivered from it. When God steps into your resources, he will give you an idea, a prescription which if you apply, will result in total destruction of poverty in your life forever.
