THE SECRET OF ABUNDANT LIFE

Verse 4 – “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” Whoever is lustful has missed God. You need to escape from the corruption that works through lust. Corruption is perversion; lust is a snare. Don’t allow your heart to be drawn to lust. Pray – Heavenly Father, please empower me to escape the corruption that is in this world that works through lust – lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life. Lord, please, help me to hate what you hate and to love what you love. Help me never to say yes to nonsense, help me never to endorse nonsense, in the name of Jesus.

There is no life in things, the secret of abundant life is in your connection to God through Christ. The character of God is one of the missing points in raising of disciples today. What is the character of God? Holiness, righteousness and wisdom. Pray – Lord, please, fill me with your character this year, establish me in holiness, in righteousness and in wisdom in the name of Jesus. Make me a worthy ambassador of Jesus Christ in spirit and truth in Jesus name.

Verse 5 – “But to obtain these gifts, you need more than faith; you must also work hard to be good, and even that is not enough. For then you must learn to know God better and discover what he wants you to do.” (TLB). You must not stop at faith, faith is just the beginning. You need to work hard, exercise your will to obtain these gifts, God does not throw things at people. There is what is called progressive sanctification, you must press into it. Pray – Lord, please help me to know you better and discover what you want me to do in Jesus name.

True success is not in the number of things you acquire, no! True success is measured in line with how far you fulfilled the purpose of God in your life. True success is keeping timely appointment with God’s schedule for your life.

Verse 6 – “Next, learn to put aside your own desires so that you will become patient and godly, gladly letting God have his way with you.” It means not imposing your will upon the will of God. The problem today is that everybody is Lord yet they say Jesus is Lord. If he is not the Lord in all, he cannot be Lord at all. Pray – Lord, help me to put aside my desire in order that your desire may be done in every area of my life. Help me to gladly let you have your way in every area of my life and let this be my lifestyle starting from today, in Jesus name I pray.

Verve 7 – “This will make possible the next step, which is for you to enjoy other people and to like them, and finally you will grow to love them deeply.” Your horizontal relationship is very important. You must get it right with your vertical relationship with God and then the life of God will flow through you. One word that has been bastardized is love. Here, we are talking about true love, agape, God’s kind of love. You cannot give what you don’t have. When you get it right, before long, you will become a healing agent in a sick world. You will become an agent of transformation; you will become a transformer and not a conformer. This is the secret of abundant life – the life of God flows through you to touch other lives.

This year, more than ever before, you must win souls. Dan. 12:3 says, “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” Remember that your greatest evangelism is your lifestyle. Is your lifestyle advertising Christ? If you are living a compromised life, if people don’t see Christ in you, then, you are a bad ambassador of Jesus Christ. This is the life that God expects you to start enjoying. You must not be barren. Barrenness is not limited to not having children, it has to do with bearing fruits.

Verse 8 – “The more you go on in this way, the more you will grow strong spiritually and become fruitful and useful to our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Verse 9 – “But anyone who fails to go after these additions to faith is blind indeed, or at least very shortsighted, and has forgotten that God delivered him from the old life of sin so that now he can live a strong, good life for the Lord.

Pray – Father, this year, please terminate every trace of barrenness in my life and make me abundantly fruitful. Lord, help me, transform my life and make me a transformer. Make me a fruit producer all the way and let my fruit abide. This year give me trophies and I will dedicate them to you in the name of Jesus. Thank you, faithful God. May your name be praised and adored, in Jesus name. Amen.
