CELEBRATING THE HOLY SPIRIT

• The Holy Spirit is our source of boldness and effectiveness particularly in evangelism and soul winning. Acts 2:14-41, “But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and harken to my words: for these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. But this is that which is spoken by the prophet Joel; and it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams … Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.” The disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ were enjoined to tarry until they were endued with power from on high. The Bible says, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8. You shall receive power after and not before the Holy Ghost has come upon you and thereafter you will be my witnesses. Power to evangelize comes as a result of Holy Ghost empowerment. This year, endeavour to evangelize and win souls. Do you know that your evangelism starts from your home? Are you confident about the salvation of the soul of your spouse? What are you waiting for? Your home is your number one mission field! Christianity is not about showmanship or about displaying posters; it is all about fruits, it is about your interactions. Your life is your greatest evangelism. Can someone come to Christ because of your lifestyle? It is not about your title. You can get so connected to the Holy Spirit that you can no longer be hidden. The Holy Spirit will announce you. The Holy Spirit is real. He will authenticate your Christianity. Anytime the Apostles were shaken, they pray and the power of God came afresh upon them. The Holy Spirit would empower them and gave them boldness after which they would go out and minister to people. There is one baptism of the Holy Ghost but there are several infillings in the Holy Ghost. From time to time, you need to get refilled; you need to recharge so that you can be in top gear.
• The Holy Spirit is our Source of Wisdom. Isa. 11:1-3, “And there came forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: and the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; and shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sights of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears.” This scripture talks about the seven spirits of the Lord: a). the spirit of Lordship b). the spirit of Wisdom c). the spirit of Knowledge d). the spirit of Understanding e). the spirit of Counsel f). the spirit of Might and g). the spirit of fear of the Lord. The Bible in Prov. 4:7 says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” “Wisdom is profitable to direct” according to Eccl. 10:10^b. We need to celebrate the Holy Spirit, he is the Spirit of wisdom. There are two dimensions of the move of God in this end time: the power dimension and the wisdom dimension. We need the two. The Holy Spirit is the One who gives the two. The Holy Spirit not only empowers you, he gives you wisdom to reign. You need power to rule but you need wisdom to reign. Wisdom will make you accomplish in one day that which is impossible to achieve in a life time. When you have wisdom, you have everything. Jesus is the wisdom and power of God. Jesus is the embodiment of the spirit of the Lord. Jesus is the embodiment of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is Jesus unlimited that is why Jesus said he would go so that the Comforter may come. Everything you find in Christ, you find in the Holy Spirit and everything you find in Jesus is how to manifest the Holy Spirit.
