Text: Rom. 8:1-6
Verse 1-2 – “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” Pray –
- Lord, this year, I want to walk after the spirit, I don’t want to walk after the flesh, please help me, O God, to walk after the spirit. Help me to have a closer walk with the precious Holy Spirit this year more than ever in the name of Jesus. Please, help me, O God, draw me closer to the leadings and promptings of the Holy Spirit. I ask you, O God, for a special empowerment of the precious Holy Spirit in my walk with you in the name of Jesus. Father, I depend on you for this, in Jesus name.
- Holy Spirit divine, I enthrone you, please fill me to overflowing, guide me unto all perfection in the name of Jesus. Help me, you know my weaknesses, please strengthen me, help me never to fail you in the mighty name of Jesus. I depend on you, Holy Spirit, and I ask for your leading, guidance, empowerment, counsel and protection. Empower me in a special way and guide me always. Thank you, Holy Spirit, in Jesus name.
- Heavenly Father, please increase my spiritual sensitivity. Help me to be sensitive to the leadings and promptings of the Holy Spirit in a special way this year, in Jesus name.
- I declare that I am in Christ Jesus so there is no condemnation for me and I walk not after the flesh but after the spirit. There is no condemnation for me, no condemnation for any member of my family, no condemnation for me in the day, no condemnation for me in the night. No condemnation! I declare it, I proclaim it and it is established in Jesus name. There is absolutely no condemnation for me in the name of Jesus, I am not in the flesh but in the spirit, in Jesus name.
There are two laws here; the law of sin and death and the law of the spirit of life. The moment you move from being in the flesh to being in the spirit, you cease from being under the law of sin and death. You are now under a new law – the law of life. You are no longer under the law of sin and death but under the law of the spirit of life.
Quite a number of Christians make the mistake of thinking that they are no longer under the law, I say No! Every child of God is still under at least two laws; the first is the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus which is superior to the law of sin and death. You need to get this revelation if you want to walk in the miraculous especially in the area of healing. You need to be a carrier of life. There is so much life in Christ Jesus that death cannot operate where this life is in operation. The law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus is superior to the law of sin and death. You need to make this declaration whenever you are confronting sickness – ‘for the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death, therefore, sickness, you have no right to operate in my body. My body is no longer under the law of sin and death, it is under the law of the spirit of life’. Jesus said, I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10b). Holy Spirit is the spirit of life while Jesus himself is the custodian of abundant life.
The other law that every child of God comes under is the law of sowing and reaping. Actually, this is a universal law that works for both the children of God and others alike. Gal. 6:7 says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” If you sow in spirit, you will reap life.
