BLESSED BEYOND CURSE (PART 4D) – CONFRONTING EVIL INHERITANCE

2 Corith 5: 17, “When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same any more. A new life has begun!” What happens? Spiritual rebirth! But what happens on the outside? What happens to the mind? What happens to the soul? What happens to the body? It is our responsibility to renew in the mind.

Verse 18 & 21, “All these new things are from God who brought us back to himself through what Christ Jesus did. And God has given us the privilege of urging everyone to come into his favour and be reconciled to him. For God took the sinless Christ and poured into him our sins. Then, in exchange, he poured God’s goodness into us!” One of the greatest revelations you need to have is the revelation of what the blood of Christ carries; the revelation that the cross is a place of exchange. It is at the cross that the scripture “Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls’. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matt. 11:28) is best displayed. If you don’t go to the cross on a daily basis, you are missing it and it shows that you are not ready to be a disciple.

What does the cross signify? It is the place where the carnal man is crucified; you need to crucify the carnal man every day. When Apostle Paul caught this revelation, he said, “I die daily” (1 Cor. 15:31b). Mr flesh is a very powerful force, you need the cross on a daily basis to be able to crush the sin there. Jesus said “if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” (Matt. 16:24). We want to enjoy the power of resurrection but we want to continue to live anyhow, we don’t want to die. Without the crucified life, you cannot see the glory. The crucified life is the way to glory. Jesus said, “Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” (John 12:24). Why are there no fruits? It is because people are not ready to crucify their old ways, they are not ready to die. They are not ready to live the crucified life where you bury the old man so that the new man can come alive and take over. Many Christians have been captured by the message of easy believism; they are not ready to withstand the truth. You cannot preach the bride’s message without the cross.

PRAY:- Heavenly father I worship you. I thank you for your greatest gift to mankind – Jesus Christ, Your Son. Grant me the grace to take up the cross and follow your Son – Jesus on daily basis. Establish me in holiness, righteousness and wisdom in Jesus’ Name. Amen
