God is the greatest investor; he doesn’t want you to waste any opportunity to win souls this year and you can start by asking Him to help you. Every soul winning effort must start from your knees; get it settled on your knees. The fiery Scottish preacher John Knox prayed “give me Scotland or I die”. He was one of the revivalists of old, we need revivalists today. Every revival starts with intercession.
PRAYER –
- Lord, I ask, in line with your word in Psa. 2:8, for lost souls, for dying souls – souls that are dying without Jesus. Lord, I ask for the nations; give us the nations of unbelievers, O God, as our inheritance in the mighty name of Jesus. Let there be revival all over the world that will transform lives and win souls in their billions in the mighty name of Jesus.
- Lord, move by your spirit and bring conversion, bring conviction, bring transformation in the name of Jesus and let the Church return to the original blue print for which she was established – winning souls for Christ and raising disciples for Jesus Christ in the name of Jesus. Thank you faithful God, in Jesus mighty name I pray.
- Lord, we present all the nations and people you have connected to this fellowship before you and ask that you raise disciples on fire for the Lord with passion for soul winning. O God, raise up revivalists in the name of Jesus. Establish everyone that is connected to this fellowship in one way or the other in the nations that have joined us. Lord, establish them in holiness, in righteousness and in wisdom. May they continue to grow in grace in the name of Jesus. May they never grow weak, Lord help them to mature into full disciples of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
We should pray for labourers to gather in souls of the harvest. Matt. 9:37-38, “Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” Jesus wants us to pray for labourers but we keep praying only our own prayers, this is the heart of Jesus that the Lord of the harvest send labourers. The Church is raising workers but where are the labourers? It is all about pursuits; it is all about inclinations – what you consider as your essence of living.
A young wealthy man offered to follow Jesus and after interacting with Jesus, Jesus asked him to sell all his possession and then come and follow him. How many people can do this? The cost of discipleship is not cheap that is why a lot of Pastors have abandoned raising disciples. If you want to be a disciple, you must take up your cross and follow Christ. The cross is the place where you die. Nobody wants to die. It is the place where you crucify self, pride of life, lust of the flesh, lust of the eye. Anything you cannot surrender to be at the center of God’s will has become your god!. It has never been easy to be a disciple. Out of the crowd that gathered around Jesus, how many disciples were made out of them? So, it is not in the proliferation, it is in the character. A disciple of Christ is one who is a disciplined follower of Christ.
