DECISIONS THAT WILL SUBSTANTIALLY REVOLUTIONIZE YOUR LIFE 1D

  • Decision to delight yourself in the Lord. This is a command. Psa. 37:4, “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” How do you delight yourself in the Lord? When you think of him, when your meditation of him is sweet. When you love him to the extent that the things of God excite you more than anything else. When something around you is not working right, but you decide to key into the frequency of God, immediately you are enlivened you become oblivious of that situation, and receive impartation from Him. Is it possible to delight yourself in the Lord today with all manner of unsatisfactoriness of things? Psa. 45:1, “My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer” (KJV). Some translations say ‘my heart is overflowing with beautiful thoughts’, while some say ‘my heart is bubbling’. Does your heart overflow with beautiful thoughts when you think about God? Has it become routine, are you no longer passionate about the things of God? Do you really love God to the point that your heart bubbles or overflows whenever you think about Him? Are your meditations of God sweet? Are you glad in the Lord? Does your relationship with God excite you? The devil does not want you to delight in the Lord, which is why he is attacking your joy. He knows that it is with joy that you will draw from the wells of salvation according to Isaiah 12:3.

Pray –

  • Lord, I hand over my heart to you; every second of my life I hand over to you; help me Lord, to delight myself always in you. Anything that will steal my joy, I raise the blood of Jesus against it in the mighty name of Jesus.
  • Grant me the grace to always celebrate you; to celebrate your goodness, to celebrate your faithfulness, to celebrate your love and your kindness in the name of Jesus. Lord, grant me the grace to delight myself in you in Jesus name.

What if it is not convenient to do so? Depression is currently ravaging the world at an alarming rate. At times, it is not convenient considering the situations around you. Depression is caused by a number of spirits known as the spirits of the valley. David did not always find it convenient to praise God, which was why he spoke to himself sometimes. He said, “Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early” Psa. 108:2. David encouraged himself in the Lord. There are times when you need to encourage yourself in the Lord to be able to do it. You need to come to a point in your relationship with God where you know that “it is settled”; that there is no viable alternative. Once you get to that point, you will surrender. The more you study the nature of God, the more you will realize that He is absolutely good; even when you don’t understand the situation of things around you because you are limited, just know that He is working out something. May our attitude always be right with God.

Pray –

  • Lord, in all circumstances, in all situations, grant that my attitude will always be right with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Things that I know, things that I don’t know, things that I don’t understand, unsatisfactoriness of things, in moments of depression, in the valley, on the hill, Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I know you are still God and that you are absolutely good and I know that you love me. Help me never to forget this in Jesus name. Amen.
