If there is any trace of deception in you, you cannot be a true worshiper; you may be a worker but never a worshiper. The Church today is busy producing workers. Where are the worshipers? God is looking for true worshipers but true worshipers are becoming scarce. At the centre of worship is love; the love of God. What value do you place on your relationship with God? How much is your God worth? Anything you place side by side God in your heart is your idol! John 14:23 says, “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” How do you know a person who truly loves God? Such a person will obey God’s word. “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” John 17:17. This is the secret of becoming habitation minded. It is the secret of becoming a mobile ark.
The problem is not the love of Christ, Christ loves you already, the question is, do you love him? Jesus asked Peter a question in John 21:17, “Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me?” You cannot be in love with someone and be passive; the love of God will drive you into his presence, the love of God will make you consistent with the word of God. The love of God will make you to be complete in obedience to the promptings and leadings of the Holy Spirit. The love of God will make you prioritize and you will become addicted to his presence. How can you love someone and not want to be in the presence of that person? You cannot say you love God and be pursuing other things. How much time do you devote to God in your heart on a daily basis? How much of God do you have time for? You spend all your time in the world chasing money and you say you love God? You only love him partially but you love money more. This is the problem in the world today.
You need to talk to yourself; you need the word of God as your anchor otherwise you will drift. Motivational Pastors are fond of telling their congregation to pursue their passion; passion that is godless will lead you to hell. Such Pastors confuse the youths with their humanistic philosophies. Every philosophy will be tested in the crucibles of life and above all any philosophy that is not Godward is not high enough. Every philosophy has a size and if it is not Godward, it is not high enough; if you pursue it, you will be hell bound.
God says, I will come and dwell with you. If you pursue God, the things that people are pursuing will begin to pursue you.
PRAYER
- Lord, please help me. I want to experience you in a way that I have never known you before. In any way that I have been an enemy of myself, please forgive me. In any way that I have been trying to be clever and telling lies to others, Lord, I am sorry, forgive me. I ask you to examine my heart and roll away every trace of lying. Roll away every trace of deception from my heart, let it never be mentioned again in my records in the name of Jesus.
- Please make me a true worshipper, help me to be addicted to your presence. Make me a person who is truly in love with you. I want to be one of those who worship you in spirit and in truth. I ask you to guide me to be a true worshipper in the mighty name of Jesus.
- Lord, I trust you to come into my heart and dwell. Dwell in me and let the blessings of those who worship you in spirit and in truth never elude me in the name of Jesus. Thank you faithful God, I know that you are a rewarder of those who diligently seek you. Lord, I trust you to reward me and reward my efforts. Help me to walk with you according to your terms and according to the leadings and promptings of the Holy Spirit. Help me to walk with you according to the guidance of your word in the name of Jesus. Thank you faithful God. Through you, I shall do valiantly. Let your name be magnified in Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen.
