THE SEVEN DISPENSATIONS 2A

We had earlier established that God deals with man dispensationally. It is important that we understand the dispensations of God in order to understand the times and seasons that we are living in. Without this revelation, many will doubt the imminence of the second coming of Jesus Christ. The truth is that we are nearer to his second coming than we had ever been.  Nobody knows the exact moment but one thing we know is that God did not leave us in doubt as to what things will be like at that time. So, we know the signs. Jesus expressly revealed the signs and evidences of the end times. We also established that a dispensation is a moral period in human history that ends with judgment; it is a time of stock taking, a harvest time. The greatest husbandman is God himself while the ordinance of seed time and harvest is an eternal ordinance. Everything on earth is subject to that ordinance.

There are seven dispensations that God established to deal with man; the first is the dispensation of innocence which started from Genesis chapter 1 to chapter 2. Man was innocent, ignorant of good and evil. The actors at that time were Adam and Eve. We also saw the dispensation of conscience spanning from Genesis chapter 3 to chapter 8. Man having performed woefully fell during this dispensation and has since not recovered from the fall. The actors were Adam, Eve and their immediate descendants. Without a full understanding of the dispensations, you may not be able to appropriately locate where we are in the scheme of things as far as God is concerned. We are indeed in the end time. It is not an understatement at all. The beautiful thing about it is that we can locate this in the scriptures.

3. The Dispensation of human government.
This spans from Genesis chapter 5 through chapter 11. The key scripture is Gen. 11:1-11, “And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth. These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood. And Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.”
