Characteristics of the Spirit of Herod II
2. The spirit of Herod is the spirit of envious rivalry.
It is a universal and common phenomenon particularly in African nations. It is manifest even in the Church! I have discovered that it is people who are at the lowest rung of the ladder that you find mostly in competition. Anytime you begin to feel bad about the progress of others, check where you are standing! There is enough space in the sky for birds to fly without colliding. The higher you go the more the space there is for you to operate. One of the ways you can know that you are not where you are supposed to be is when you find yourself competing with others. If you are where God wants you to be, nobody can compete with you. There is a place for you, stop trying to be another Joe. You are fearfully and wonderfully made with specifications. Professionals don’t compete with anybody. Set higher goals for yourself if you want heaven to be your limit. A lot of the atrocities that are committed in Africa are fuelled by envious rivalry. Every household wickedness is a product of envious rivalry. Many Christians do not understand the nature of evil; evil does not need a lot of space to operate, all it needs is a human being. There is a time that evil puts on flesh. It will appear that demons operate most when they enter into human beings. It was because demons entered into Hitler that six million Jews were killed. Envious rivalry is the reason why a lot of pregnancies are miscarried. It is understandable when this spirit operates in the world but it has crept into the Church! You need to work on yourself. Do you rejoice when you see good things happening to others? What you celebrate is what you magnetize. One of the reasons why some poor people remain poor is because they are always castigating the rich. If you celebrate good things, you will attract good things. You must be able to discern when a contrary spirit has taken control of people. Don’t be unequally yoked; anyone who is not in the Lord can be used of the devil to steal, to kill and to destroy. There is no meeting point between light and darkness. Envious rivalry should not have a place in the heart of a child of God.
Pray –
- I raise the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth against you spirit of envious rivalry. I overthrow the spirit of envious rivalry. I overcome you by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of my testimony. In the name that is above every other name, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I bind you today, I cast you into the bottomless pit. I terminate your operation. Thus far you come, you go no further. I command you to loose your hold in the name of Jesus. You will not operate in my life, you will not operate in the life of any member of my family in Jesus name.
- I command full and total restoration of whatever you have tampered with in my life and in the life of every member of my family in Jesus name. Amen
