Covenant of healing and health
OPERATION 18:18

2020/2021 OPERATION 18-18 DAY 17D (COVENANT OF HEALING AND HEALTH)

Reasons why Christians fall sick

  1. Sin.
Sin makes the glory to come short. The Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Rom. 3:23. The origin of sickness is sin. Sin brought distress, death, destruction, disharmony, demotion, depression and so on. God’s prescription for sin is the blood of Jesus. 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” The blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth cleanses us from all sin. Nothing else cleanses that is why the blood of Jesus is a very powerful agent of healing. Sin makes the glory come short and once the glory departs, anything can happen.

2. Ignorance.
The Bible says we know in part; all our knowledge is in part. It is only God that is omnipotent. But there are certain things that we know and must be used. Knowledge (and things related to knowledge) is so important in the word of God that it is used over one thousand times in the Bible. It is possible for the children of God to be on the other side because of lack of knowledge. The Bibles says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” Hosea 4:6a. Every lack of knowledge is ignorance. Ignorance consists of all erroneous beliefs and all true beliefs not amounting to knowledge. It is lack of knowledge regarding the cessation of unsatisfactoriness of things. It is lack of knowledge regarding the path leading to the cessation of unsatisfactoriness of things. It is lack of knowledge regarding the time of cessation of unsatisfactoriness of things. How does lack of knowledge affect people? If someone has malaria fever, for instance, and that person starts treating headache, he or she is only treating a symptom of malaria and it will take a miracle for such a person to survive.
