We had identified the slight difference between self and flesh; you need to form the habit of going to the cross regularly to deal with your ego. Your ego has to do with me, myself, and I. It is ego that makes you full of self. You can’t touch ego. Most men are driven by ego. That is why the easiest way for a woman to be a queen is to make your husband a king. Don’t attack your husband’s ego; this is a very costly mistake. The flesh on the other hand is the one that needs gratification. The flesh is the stronghold while self is the strongman. If you deal with a stronghold without dealing with the strongman, he will only leave you for a season and build another stronghold. This is one of the reasons why a lot of deliverance issues linger. It is not easy to deal with the demons of habits because they always tend to weave themselves around the personality of an individual. The only way to deal with them is to go to the cross. How can you manifest Christian character if you don’t know the cross? The cross is the greatest sacrifice ever. It is the greatest manifestation of selflessness.
The divine prescription for deliverance from this evil age is the cross of Christ. Matt. 13:39, “The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world, and the reapers are the angels.” This is about the parable of the sower. This age is winding down very speedily. There is a harvest coming. Every farmer expects a harvest. There is seed, time and harvest. All our actions are seeds. All our words are seeds. Whenever the flesh drives you to sow carnal seeds, what it is trying to do is to useless your efforts. On the day of harvest, there will be nothing left because every man’s work will be tested by fire. If it is hay, wood or stubble, it will be consumed. Anything you do according to the flesh amounts to hay, wood and stubble. The Bible says anything done in the flesh cannot please God (Romans 8:8). This should help us make the necessary adjustments. It is not everything you do that is good in the sight of man that is pleasing to God. It must pass through a fiery test before it becomes acceptable to God. Anything that is capable of reducing your effort to hay, wood or stubble, may it never happen in the name of Jesus. Be a God pleaser so that you can gain the fullness of God’s rewards.

Heavenly Father I worship you. I thank you for the generous provisions you have made for my well being here and hereafter. I celebrate the finished work of your dear son Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. Grant me the grace to live for him all the days of my life in Jesus name. Amen
