Avoid the following toxic attitudes like plagues if you want to have victory in the wilderness: –
3. Defiance.
It is one of the things that man acquired from the fall in the Garden of Eden. Another word of defiance is rebellion. It is stubbornness. It is to rebel against the dictates and direction of the Holy Spirit and the word of God. I don’t know how anyone can have comprehensive success without the word of God. A lot of those who are considered as successful are actually failures, they are only parochially successful. They are only succeeding to fail because the divine prescription for success is the word of God. Josh. 1:8 says “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Success can therefore be qualified. You will have a comprehensive success in the powerful name of Jesus. You will not succeed to fail in the name of Jesus. Whoever rebels against God is doomed. At the heart of defiance is pride. Pride is nothing but the idolatry of self, arrogance. God calls it an abomination. The Bible says God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). Moses was so meek and had so much grace. The model of our Lord Jesus Christ is the lamb – meekness. Meekness is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Pride is one of the characters of the devil; it is one of the seven seals of Lucifer. In the things of the kingdom of God, the way up is down and the way down is up. May you model yourself as a lamb that was slain in the name of Jesus.

- Almighty God I worship you. I thank you for your loving kindness towards me. I ask you to search my heart and see if there be any seal of pride, please uproot and utterly destroy it. Fill me with Christ till the world no longer sees me but Jesus Christ Shinning through me in Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen.
