7. Prayer and fasting.
Jesus gave a parable that men ought always to pray and not faint in Luke 18:1-8. When you add fasting to prayer, you intensify the prayer. One of the outcomes of fasting is that it mortifies the flesh; it brings the flesh under so that the spirit man can take over. Remember that the muscle you feed is the one that will grow and operate. If you want the Holy Spirit, feed him with the food of the spirit. Feed Holy Spirit with prayer. Keep your flesh under; let it not rule over you. Stop trying to be what God has not made you because this has brought a lot of woes to many.
PRAY
- Lord, grant me the grace to live a fruitful prayer life, by your spirit, guide me. Strengthen me always to live above flesh; above the corruption that is in this world. I want to have comprehensive success. I depend on you. I need you. I need your grace in the name of Jesus.
- Strengthen me where I am weak. Do not allow me to be entrapped. Do not allow me to be seduced. Do not allow me to be derailed. Do not allow me to be defied. Do not allow me to be destroyed in the name of Jesus.
- Grant me the grace, Lord, to walk hand in hand with you so that your purpose will be fulfilled in every area of my life.
- Make me a candidate for comprehensive success in the name of Jesus.
- Jesus, you succeeded. I must succeed because I believe in you. I believe you, Jesus, I depend on you. I depend on your finished work on the cross to make it to the Promised Land.
- Help me Lord. My destiny is secured in your hands. I seal my destiny in your hands with the precious blood that you shed on mount Calvary.
- Through you, I shall do valiantly. In you, I am more than a conqueror. In you I live and move and have my being.
- I ask that you fill me afresh with life and power. Baptize me with Holy Ghost and fire. Guide me every inch of the way till I become all that you want me to be and accomplish all you want me to accomplish in the mighty name of Jesus.
- Where others fail, make me to succeed. Thank you blessed Lord, in Jesus name I pray. Amen!
