SEVEN FACTS ABOUT TEMPTATION III

2. Anyone can be tempted.
The tempter is not a respecter of persons. He is very ardent at it. If he was bold enough to tempt Christ, then he can tempt anyone. Take note of his timing when he decided to tempt Christ. It was after a very major encounter; the heavens opened, the Father was there, Christ was there and the Holy Ghost descended bodily and rested on him. Being tempted is not a matter of if but a matter of when. Temptation will surely come. That is why we should be on guard at all times. It is only those who understand the nature of temptation that will be able to overcome it. Error produces disaster.  When some people are faced with temptation, they tend to attribute it to God. Take note that anyone can be tempted regardless of whether or not you are born again. It was after Jesus had fasted that the tempter appeared. How better prepared can one be? Your preparation does not prevent temptation; your preparation enables you to overcome temptation when it comes. Jesus took adequate steps before the temptation. Baptism means identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. Jesus was pointing out to believers that that is how to get ready. The best way to destroy lust is to die daily. Dead people do not lust. That is why the bride’s message is called the crucified way and that is why it is not a very popular message today. Ironically, that is the only message that can give you comprehensive success and that is what we are called to preach in this ministry. It is at the cross that you crucify flesh, it is at the cross that the Adamic nature is taken away. It is at the cross that everything that magnetizes the snake is crushed.
