SEVEN FACTS ABOUT TEMPTATION VI

5. Every temptation will revolve around three things

a. Lust of the flesh. It can come in the garden or in the wilderness. The tempter engaged Eve in a conversation and said, did God ask you not to eat it? That was what Eve began to hear and the lust in her was activated immediately. She began to desire it. Luke 4:3-4, “And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” Learn to eat the word of God. The word of God is food. Until it becomes food to you, it will not be health. Feast on the word of God, by so doing, you consolidate the spirit man; the spirit man thrives on every word of God. Jesus quoted the scripture from Deut 8:3. Be addicted to the word of God. Make it your food. If you labour in the word, you will be victorious over the world. Know what is written in the word of God. Whenever you notice that you are over feeding the flesh, be very careful because the muscle you develop is the one that will prevail.

b. Lust of the eye. In the Garden of Eden, when Eve saw that the fruit was lovely, she desired it. This is how a lot of men are seduced. The direct telephone line to the heart of a man is the eyes. Luke 4:5-8, “And the devil, taking him up into a high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdom of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” The devil knows how to blow the mind. The devil understands the power of worship. Only Jehovah is worthy of our worship. May you never substitute your worship for any other thing in the mighty name of Jesus. The way to go about it is to be so fanatically in love with God that the very idea of substituting that love for any other thing does not even remotely exist. That is the meaning of true worship. When you get to that level, you are already in Christ and ready to overcome the tempter. For every decision, there is a price. So, before you accept that favour, ask for the price.
