THANKSGIVING I

You cannot value what you do not recognize. Parents, out of love for their children, sometimes throw things at them. Exercise some caution. If you lavish too much attention on anyone, there is tendency for that person to begin to take you for granted. That was the beginning of the fall of man. If you go through the book of Genesis, you will discover that Adam was never a worshipper.

The bedrock of worship is value – worthship. People place more value on other things and that is the problem of man to date. They no longer place value on the things of God. That was why Jesus asked a very important question in Matt. 18:8b (TLB) “But the question is: When I, the Messiah, return, how many will I find who have faith and are praying?” You cannot celebrate what you do not value. You cannot value what you do not recognize. It is a law.

There are more workers in the Church today than worshippers. God is not looking for workers. In John 4:23, Jesus said, “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” For a worshipper, thanksgiving is a lifestyle; it flows. For a worshipper, no assignment is infra dig in God’s vineyard. God has not shifted. Whenever things are not adding up in the life of a believer, the problem is not with God but always with man and his ways – the fallen nature in man (adamic nature) does not allow him to see things clearly. The Church is full of activities but God is not moved by your activities, he is moved by your worship. For a worshipper, prayer meeting is a privilege. If you follow Church, you will miss God.

Pray –

Eternal rock of ages I thank you for the privilege of knowing you. I ask you to help me place more value on my relationship with you than I can ever place on anything else in Jesus’ name. Amen.
