COVENANT OF INFINITE GRACE (C)

Covenant of infinite grace

Gen. 39:21, “But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.” If God is with you, he will give you favour in the sight of your oppressors. One day of favour is more than 430 years of labour practically speaking. Once God favours you, nothing can work against you. That is why we need to trust him for his favour. Grace is the unmerited favour of God, it just flows from his heart of benevolence. God is full of mercy. He is kind and generous.

Exo. 33:12-14, “And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.” May the presence of God always abide with us and may the Lord give us rest in the powerful name of Jesus. May we find grace in the sight of God in Jesus’ name.

If you are a worshipper, you will be addicted to the presence of God and if you are addicted to the presence of God, the grace of God will supernaturally abound in your life. That is how it works. You need not teach holiness to a worshipper because the fear of God guarantees that. If you teach someone holiness before making him a worshipper, he will become legalistic – self righteous rule keeping. The truth is that God hates legalism; it is a serious error and one of the signs of apostasy.

Today, many people seek the presents of God more than his presence, that is a perversion. We ought not to be looking at the hand of God for what we can get, rather, we should go for the face of God. We should be those who seek him for relationship because we love him and not because of things. People are seeking a God to use and not a God to worship or serve. They only obey when it suits them, they are lords in themselves.

It is not unusual at the beginning of the year for many places of worship to declare days of fasting but fail to teach their congregation reverential fear of God which is at the heart of worship. They fast and at the end of it, gain nothing. They are not drawn closer to God. If you teach people spiritual warfare before they understand what worship is, you make vengeful people out of them.

Get back to the fundamentals, get it right at the foundation which is worship and God will accept everything you build on. It will not be shaken. You will smile at every storm because whatever shaking that the world experiences will make your ship like the ark of Noah. The storm that sinks other ships will keep yours afloat, so shall it be for us in Jesus’ name. That is why it is important to get it right at the beginning of the year. The first seven days of the year are so crucial; if you can get it right, you will soar. A lot of people don’t have this simple revelation, unfortunately.

Psa. 5:12, “For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”

Pray

Psa. 23:6, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” May the goodness and mercy of God follow us everywhere we go in Jesus name.

Pray

When the goodness of God follows us, the resources of heaven will abound in our lives. May God cause everything created to work for our good this year in Jesus’ name.
