It is a big error to reduce the message of the cross to only Good Friday. Easter is actually not a Christian festival. The period of Easter is the period when believers should come out to battle; to raise the banner of the Lord. This is because that is the time that the devil attacks the Church the most; especially Church leaders. Easter festival came from Babylon – ‘Ishtar’. When should we talk about the cross? We must visit the cross daily according to Luke 9:23. Any day you fail to go to the cross, you are becoming weak; you are not doing the right thing. If you remove the cross, you cannot produce a disciple.
Jesus said, “if anyone wants to be my disciple, let him deny himself and take up the cross and follow me daily”. Take up the cross daily and not only on Good Friday. Jesus was not crucified on Good Friday; he was crucified on the eve of a high Sabbath. What is certain is that Jesus rose up on a Sunday. All the ceremonies associated with Easter are nothing but empty rituals. If you miss truth, you have missed everything. The Bible is our direction finder because it is the truth of God’s word. The Bible is the written truth and that is why it is our constitution. Anything that dilutes or distorts it is poison and therefore null and void. It is a very serious error which nobody should cling to. Every error is enough to lead one to hell and that is why the Church is getting weaker by the day. It is one of the reasons why the Church is no longer producing real disciples of Christ.
Anyone who imbibes the spirit of error is in dire need of deliverance. The first deliverance such a person requires is truth. If you remove the cross, you have removed truth. The cross is the meeting place between the truth and mercy of God, “All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies” (Psa. 25:10). The covenants and offerings refer to the word. (John 17:17), “Sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth”. John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”. Rom. 8:9B says, “Now, if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his”.

- Heavenly Father I thank you for the truth of your word. I ask you to liberate me completely from any error in Jesus’ name.
- I come against you spirit of error. I overcome you by the blood of the lamb and by the word of my testimony. I declare that through the death, burial. and resurrection of Jesus Christ, all my sins are forgiven and I have comprehensive dominion over darkness in Jesus’ name. Amen.
