If we can raise more worshippers today in the Church, most problems will become solution because worship is very fundamental. It is foundational, if you miss it at the foundation level there is nothing anyone can do. The Bible says if the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do? We must therefore get it right at the foundation or forget it. May we not miss it in the name of Jesus Christ.
It is easier to become a worker than to be a worshipper but the problem is that once you become a worker, it will be difficult for you to be a true worshipper, although it is not impossible. However, if you are a worshipper, work will be sweet because in the kingdom, everything you do will be done out of the heart of worship. Even your work in the kingdom will be part and parcel of your worship. It is a privilege to work in God’s vineyard.
The reason why people are still looking for something else after being in the kingdom of God is because they were never worshippers. Any servant of God who is seeking a political office is not a worshipper, he does not even understand what worship means. Such people set wrong standards and make unbelievers to ridicule the Church.
How do you identify a non-worshipper? Every non-worshipper is ready to sacrifice higher things to pursue lower things. What you really worship is what you pursue. You can claim to be a worshipper of Jehovah the Living God but show me what you are pursuing and I will show you what you really worship. Remember what Apostle Paul said in Phil. 3:18-19, “(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things).” The Living Bible puts it this way – “For I have told you often before, and I say it again now with tears in my eyes, there are many who walk along the Christian road who are really enemies of the cross of Christ. Their future is eternal loss, for their god is their appetite: they are proud of what they should be ashamed of; and all they think about is this life here on earth”.
What are the characteristics of such people? They mind earthly things. This is another way of identifying non-worshippers – they mind earthly things. What exactly is your heart actually panting after? The allegiance of most Church goers is to their Church leaders and not to Christ. That is why there has been a lot of departure from the message of the cross; people depart from the cross and begin to pursue their own personal ambition. It is so easy to chase shadow while leaving the substance. If you are not careful and completely sold out to God, if you are not a worshipper, it is very easy to get into error and wrong pursuits. Tell me what you are chasing and I will tell you who you are and where you will most likely end.
You cannot be chasing the god of this world and hope to make heaven at last. Your worship is what you truly love. People pursue only what they really love. The one you love is the one you will chase. Everyone will end up in the home of their owner; it is a very serious matter.

- Dear Heavenly Father I thank you for your love towards me as you demonstrated it by sending your son to die for me on the cross. I ask you to grant me the grace to take up the cross and follow you all the days of my life, and follow your son all the days of my life. Make it impossible for me to chase shadows and miss you, the only living God in Jesus’ name.
