LET GOD ARISE IV

You need not teach a worshipper reverential fear of God because it is the beginning of wisdom. You need not teach a worshipper about holiness because the only place a worshipper can commit sin is where the eyes of God cannot reach. That place does not exist!

If you teach people how to give before making worshippers out of them, you will produce idolaters because they will be giving in order to get – giving with the wrong motive. They come to the presence of God with so much arrogance – “I have paid my tithe to you God, so you must give me everything I want!” They have a very wrong spirit. There is so much contradiction in the Church today and this is one of the reasons why the world no longer takes the Church seriously.

Worship is placing value on our relationship with God so much that the very idea of substituting that love for anything else does not even remotely exist. There is healing in worship. The very fact that God approves of you brings so much satisfaction; nothing can satisfy more than that. Some people are ready to throw away their relationship with Jesus because they don’t have money. Recently, I learnt that one of the richest men in the world wants to give out everything he has to charity. What he is trying to say in essence is that he is empty; he wants to return to the life of an ordinary person. This should serve as a lesson to every one of us.

There is a hole in the heart of every individual which God created purposely. That hole is God sized. It is only God that can fill it. When people think it is money, they miss it. When you have money, you will discover that it cannot really give you joy, money cannot buy joy. Money can give you a beautiful mansion but not a home. The easiest thing God can give you is money. Money is also the easiest thing that can develop wings and evaporate. What you have, money cannot buy. The greatest things in life which God has given to his children are above money.

When people give with a wrong motive, they get wounded. I learnt of a man who went to Church with his car. During the course of the service, a call was made for people to come out and ‘sow’. Impulsively, he submitted his car and walked back home! A lot of people give with very wrong motive. Anything you give with a wrong motive does not carry weight. It would be my greatest joy to meet with the rich man who wants to give away all he has so that I can tell him that it is not enough to give to charity. You must first and foremost have a relationship with God and fall in love with him so that what you give will not end up as hay, wood or stubble. Everybody’s work will be tested by of fire (1 Cor 3:13).

Today, people rush to miracles centres chanting ‘what God cannot do does not exist’. Sometimes I wonder if such Christians actually read the Bible! They are looking for a God to use and not a God to worship. If you are a true worshipper, miracles will follow you. You are not supposed to be a miracle chaser. “And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:17-18).

Pray –

  • Lord, heal your Church in the name of Jesus. Let your Church return to the original message that you gave. Any point of departure – anywhere there is error, Father, in your mercy, forgive your Church.
  • In your mercy cleanse. In your mercy, purify. In your mercy, sanctify. In your mercy, deliver. In your mercy, restore and revive your Church in the name of Jesus. Restore your Church to the original message that raises worshippers.
  • Lord, deliver your Church from idolatry and let your Church begin to raise true worshippers; those who worship you in spirit and in truth in the name of Jesus. Thank you merciful Father in Jesus’ mighty name I pray.
