“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
Psalm. 84:11
We need to get things right and not get mechanical in the place of prayer. A lot of people are fast departing from the ways of God, the Holy God, trying to bring God into their ways and trying to force him to walk in them. God cannot be part of what is not right.
Pray –
- Ask God for mercy. In any way that you have been your own personal barrier through personal sins, through iniquity in your heart.
Iniquity means to turn away from light and it is so easy to get into it. Sin means to miss the mark. Whenever you turn away from the revealed will of God, missing the mark is inevitable. How can you aim right when you have turned away from light? The Bible says through knowledge shall the just be delivered. Ignorance is of one of the greatest barriers – self inflicted barriers. That is why most of the time in the place of prayer I don’t just reel out prayer points but take my time to teach, so that people can have revelational knowledge. When you pray with revelation, you will have a revolution; then prayer becomes something to look forward to not drudgery, not dry, not drab. It becomes something you want to do because you know the impact. Jesus said men ought always to pray and not to faint (Luke 18:1).
Prayerlessness is a source of powerlessness in Christendom today. God’s standard for prayer is pray without ceasing. How many times do you really pray? So many encumbrances get in the way. We need to set our preferences aright. What are we chasing? It is so easy to chase money and miss God. What you chase will always be ahead of you. That is why we need to elevate our pursuits. We need to lift our pursuits and be God chasers and not just gold chasers.
Pray –
- Father, please help me. Grant me grace never to be an enemy of my own success in life. Grant me the grace never to be a barrier, an obstacle to my prayers in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Draw me into closer fellowship with you and give me the right spirit that I may walk with you in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Help me O God to love you above any other thing, to submit to your purposive will completely and to walk hand in hand with you so that your purpose may be fulfilled in my life.
- Make it impossible for me to turn away from light. Make it impossible for me to miss your mark. Lord, establish me in holiness, righteousness and wisdom and let your glory shine forth in my life.
