Do you know that heaven rejoices when you stretch to do the will of God? Many times when I minister, I actually minister about myself because I am a work in progress. I am a student of progressive sanctification. I have scented heaven and I don’t want to miss it. However, when I look at the state of the Church today, I weep. During the last one-on-one encounter I had with Jesus, he was not smiling at all. He left the message that his people are not ready.
I am yet to recover from that encounter. I have tried over and over again to wave it aside and overlook it but it is just unforgettable. The more I try, the more I see the unpreparedness of the Church for the soon coming King, and the more I learn because I am a student. I learn from everything and from everyone. I learn so that I can lead.
Anyone who is not prepared to learn is not prepared to lead. One of the ways to know a leader who you should not follow is a leader who is not learning. This is because leadership is nothing but learning to live. The reason why African nations are not progressing is because most of their leaders are not learners. So they keep on producing dealers instead of leaders. It is so easy to be a dealer what is difficult is to be a leader. For you to be a leader, you must be prepared to learn.
Jesus said,
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”Matthew 11:28-29, KJV
This is Jesus instructing us on what to do; he says, “learn of me”.
Everyone is busy chasing something. Like I always say, what you chase will always be ahead of you. What you chase defines the direction of your life. What you chase determines your destination and ultimately defines your destiny. That is why it a very serious matter. You must know what you are chasing. The easiest way to get to nowhere is to follow a leader who is going nowhere. The easiest way to go to hell is to follow a leader who is hell bound. You can’t change him, he is your leader!
Never follow a leader who is not leading you up; never follow a leader who is not leading you to God. It is stupidity of the highest order to follow a leader who does not know the way. Today, billions of people are following a leader who told his followers that he didn’t know the way!
I tremble at the level of error and damage that motivational preachers have done to the Church. Models speak. You cannot use a wrong model to arrive at a right destination.
“I must work the works of him that sent me while it is day: the night cometh when no man can work.”John 9:4, KJV
Time flies. How are you investing your life? What are you chasing?

- Heavenly Father, I worship and adore you. I ask that you empower me by your spirit to set my affections on the things that are above, and never to lower the standard of your word in Jesus’ name.
