Idolatry causes the rains to cease. Idolatry blocks the heavens. The bad thing about the consequences of idolatry is that it is generational. The root of the problems faced by African countries is not corruption but lust. Lust is love that is perverted. Wherever there is idolatry, there must be corruption. Whatever you place side by side God in your heart has become your god. It is so easy to get into the slippery path of idolatry.
You need not teach a worshipper giving because his motive for giving is quite different from that of an idolater. A worshipper gives because he loves God and cannot come into the presence of God empty handed. You can give your way into hell if you don’t love God that was why Jesus asked Peter, do you really love me? (John 21:15).
Are you in ministry for what to get? Or is it because you love God? Today, so many people are throwing away the call of God to pursue lower calls. You don’t throw away the call of God to go and take other things, you rather throw away other things in order to answer the call. Jesus says no one who puts his hand on the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God (Luke 9:62). Elisha’s call was unique, he left everything and served the God of Elijah; hard sincere followership.
If we say we are the disciples of Jesus Christ, where is the discipline? A disciple is a disciplined follower. How much of Christ is in you? Let us repent, break the seal of idolatry and restructure our hearts. True worship is being so fanatically in love with God that the idea of substituting that love for anything else does not even remotely exist.
Pray –
- Heavenly Father, make me a true worshipper. Remove every idol in my heart in the mighty name of Jesus. Help me to dethrone anything that is blocking my heavens. I ask that you cleanse me from the evil seal of idolatry, personal idolatry, generationally and all forms of idolatry.
- I enthrone you as Lord in the garden of my heart. In every area of my life, Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, help me to walk in comprehensive dominion over other gods in the name of Jesus.
- Do not allow me to walk the slippery path of idolatry. Grant me comprehensive dominion over the lust of the flesh, lust of the eye and pride of life.
- Make me a true worshipper that worships you in spirit and in truth. Make every member of my family true worshippers in spirit and in truth. Make every member of Holy Ghost Fellowship International a true worshipper in spirit and in truth.
- O God, raise true worshippers, let there be revival in your Church. Remove every erroneous doctrine that is producing idolaters in the Church in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Help us O Lord, in Jesus’ name.
