Deut. 28:1-14 enumerates the blessings that follow obedience to God’s instructions. There are two classes of windows in heaven: the windows of blessings and the windows of judgment. They are always open. Everyone comes under one; what differentiates where people stand is compliance to the simple instructions to the word of God. The word of God is the revealed will of God. A time of fasting is a time of real introspection:
- Where am I standing?
- Am I building on a rock or on quick sand?
- Upon which foundation am I building?
- Which direction am I facing?
- How prepared am I for the next level?
Foundation determines the outcome, foundation determines the glory. Foundation determines beauty. Foundation determines structure. Foundation determines everything. The Bible says,
“If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”Psalm 11:3, KJV
1 John 5:21 instructed that we should throw away our idols. One idol in the heart is enough to neutralize every prayer and every fasting because God will not answer the prayer of an idolater. Anything you place side by side God in your heart has become your idol. The world is the way it is today because of lack of impact from the Church. How many Church going people are disciplined followers of Christ? If you cannot obey his word, you cannot claim to be a Christian. In John 14:23, Jesus said,
“If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode in him.”John 14:23, KJV
If the rapture takes place on a Sunday morning, a lot of cathedrals will still be in full session. Unfortunately, people are behaving as if the rapture will not happen. That is the greatest lie. Every liar is a loser and the worst lie is the one you tell yourself. The greatest tragedy of man is that he lives, talks, behaves as if he will not die. Meanwhile, the Bible says, it is appointed unto man once to die and after death judgment (Heb. 9:27). We are seeing prophecies being fulfilled daily but the question is, are we making amends? Are we interpreting the events correctly? The Bible says in Mark 8:36, what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and lose his own soul?
Pray –
- Lord, where am I missing it? Please reveal to me areas of my life where I need to make amends while the sun still shines. Grant me the grace to walk with you, to align with your will and fulfil it in the name of Jesus.
- Help me, O God, not to be among those to whom you will say, “I know you not”. Help me, O God, after I have run this race, to enter into my allotted inheritance in you and to be celebrated when I meet you in the mighty name of Jesus.
- Make it impossible for me to miss your mark in holiness, righteousness, and wisdom. Guide me by the skillfulness of your hand to my allotted inheritance in you in the name of Jesus.
- Grant me the grace to lay treasures where it matters most in the name of Jesus.
- Set my affections aright on things that are above in the mighty name of Jesus.
- Help me to truly love you and to align with your purposive will.
- Let your word, as revealed in the Bible, be my compass through this life in the name of Jesus. Thank you ancient of days.
- Grant me grace to build on the solid rock, Jesus Christ, my saviour, my deliverer, the rock of my salvation, protection, preservation, provision, progression, perfection and the rock of my promise.
- Help me Lord. Through you, I shall do valiantly. I have not walked this path before, but you have done it, you navigated it successfully as the incarnate Word. Grant me the grace to walk with you. I put my hand in your hands and I ask you to lead me, help me Lord in Jesus’ name.
- Make it impossible for me to make wrong moves. Make it impossible for me to put the wrong foot forward. Grant me the grace to be all you want me to be. Help me to make heaven at last.
- You have gone to prepare a place for me, please prepare me for that place so that where you are, there also I will be and rendezvous with you in glory.
- Make my last day on earth my best day in you in Jesus’ name.
