God will help us to be people who maximize our connection with him. It is one of the wisest things to do. If you have the inexhaustible source of every good and perfect gift as your Father, why should you lack? Why should you worry? Why should you be anxious? Why should you fear? Why should you be troubled? There are certain people who cannot call him Father, but we call him Father because that is who he is to us. The Bible says, no good thing will he withhold from those who walk uprightly (Psa. 84:11).
Whenever I read the Bible, I always read it technically and this has helped me a lot. There are some parts that are exclusive. No good thing will he withhold is exclusively reserved for those who walk uprightly. Many times those who do not walk uprightly expect God to endorse their wickedness. God cannot violate his absolutes. He is absolutely holy. He is a thrice holy God. He has elevated his word above his name. His hand can be limited. God is not moved by activities, only those who align with his revealed will as enunciated in his word, will receive from him.
A time of prayer and fasting is a time of introspection. I always ask myself – is there any area in my life that is not properly aligned? I will drop it immediately. Whenever I obey the instruction of God to drop anything, I always see his promotion. As a result, I no longer struggle with his instructions. Has he spoken it? So be it. It may not be convenient; in fact, it is not always convenient as a result of the adamic nature, man’s will in union with the will of the snake in the garden.
Whenever you find yourself struggling to do the will of God, ask for help and heaven will respond. This is because heaven wants you to succeed. Heaven wants to bestow that which is ultimately beneficial to you for your success. An understanding of this will change our attitude towards our heavenly Father. God is not a dictator looking for whom to push around.
My greatest definition of grace is the ability to do that which ordinarily you are incapable of doing. In extreme circumstances, you reach out and God responds. He empowers you supernaturally. That is why the Holy Spirit indwells every child of God. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of grace though grace has been so badly corrupted that people think that it is a license to do anything or live anyhow.
They believe that once you say the sinners’ prayer, it does not really matter how you live afterward. Once saved, saved forever. This is a serious error. I can guarantee you that anybody who believes that cannot make heaven; this is because nothing that defiles can get there. God will not lower his standards because of anybody’s ignorance. No, he can’t. Isa. 59:1-2 tells us of how iniquity can block his hands; iniquity can reduce any fasting effort to zero.
Pray –
- Father, supernaturally empower me to align with your purposive will. Help me to understand that your will is perfect and the best for me.
- Wherever I am struggling, grant me grace. Show me the things that I need to drop and as I drop them, I ask for your divine intervention.
- Grant me grace to walk hand in hand with you so that your purpose will be fulfilled in my life.
- Help me to say like your pattern Son, my meat is to do the will of my Father (John 4:34). Let this be my meat. May I delight to do your will, O God, in the name of Jesus. Grant me grace to delight to do your will.
- Make me a son that pleases you. Whenever you look down upon me, may your face always beam with smile; smile of endorsement, smile of satisfaction in Jesus’ name.
