I tremble at the word decision though a lot of people trivialize it. Decisions determine a lot of things. Decisions define wealth. It is not how much you earn that makes you wealthy, it is the decisions you make on how to invest. Decisions define destinies. Decisions determine destination. Decision determines everything. Decisions determine where and how one will end and spend eternity. Tremble at that word. Your decision to give your life to God determined your salvation.
Anytime you decide, you are actually exercising your will. Your will is your right to choose. Your will is your deciding self. Your mind is your thinking self. Your emotion is your feeling self. One of the things man lost in the Garden of Eden is the ability to choose right. Man acquired a diseased perception of reality, and unified intelligence with the snake in the garden, the greatest undoing of man.
It takes a quality decision to make heaven. Nobody stumbles into heaven by chance. Not even the thief who was crucified with Jesus Christ was left out. He made it by taking a quality decision to vote for righteousness.
Today, the stage is set for the manifestation of the antichrist and a lot of Church going people will bow, people who have read the Bible will submit to the antichrist because of the twisted mentality, diseased perception of reality.
It is only the wise that will say, Father, let your will be done. I do not want to superimpose my will on your will. Do you say that Jesus Christ is the Lord only when it suits you? I worked with the military and I know the importance of obeying a superior officer even if he is just one rank ahead of you.
When the will of Jesus Christ crossed with the will of the Father in the garden of Gethsemane, he said, not my will but let your will be done. Immediately, heaven backed him up and sent help. That is why the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ is the greatest definition of submission. That was where man’s will in union with the will of the serpent was liberated.
One of the best prayers anyone can pray is – thy will be done; teach me, Lord, to say from my heart, let your will be done in every facet of my life. If we agree that the will of God is the best for us, we will say it boldly. The will of God is very clear.
The revealed will of God is as contained in his word. That is why if there is any area of your life that is not in alignment with his will, please, do yourself a favour and align with his will. That is what the scripture above is telling us to do.
Many times, Christians pray amiss. Prayer is supposed to be an expression of wisdom, but sometimes and in many cases, it ends up as a proclamation of ignorance and foolishness. God is not bound to respond to the decrees of a person whose will is still united with the will of the snake in the garden.
If you say Jesus Christ is Lord, let him be Lord in all! If he is not the Lord in all, he cannot be Lord at all! Only those who are led by the spirit of God are the sons of God (Romans 8:14). It takes a yielded will to allow the Holy Spirit to move. If the Lord is not your shepherd, there is no how you can dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Pray –
- Lord, help me to exercise my will aright. Let the power that liberated the will of man on the cross by the finished work of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ rest upon me today. Help me, O God, never to put the wrong foot forward again.
- Do not allow me to ever superimpose my will on your will. Grant me the grace to say from my heart, let your will be done in every facet of my life in the name of Jesus.
- Help me to align with your purposive will for my destiny and to fulfil it in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you ancient of days.
