Basically there are four reasons why people fall sick:
1. Sin.
Whenever sickness comes knocking, the first thing to do is to look inwards. Sin does open the door for attack of the enemy. Sin is an invitation for the enemy and when he comes, he comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. The first thing he sends is his agent and one of the agents of death is sickness. The Bible says that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
One very dangerous sin I have observed among Church goers is unforgiveness which produces bitterness, resentment, malice and strife. These negative emotions give very dangerous and deadly invitation to demonic spirits. Bitterness fouls one’s spiritual climate. Defilement leads to disrobement. The moment you are disrobed, you become naked in the realm of the spirit. Naturally, the enemy will come to afflict.
Many psychosomatic sicknesses can be traced to unforgiveness. I have seen this over and over again. That is why forgiveness is a very important prerequisite for healing whether spiritual healing (which is deliverance), physical healing or any type of healing at all. If you are holding anyone in unforgiveness and asking God to heal you, the first thing God requires of you is forgiveness otherwise, your prayers will not fly.
“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.”Psalm 66:18, KJV
There is no greater iniquity than unforgiveness; we are forgiven as we forgive. If you fail to forgive, you will not be forgiven. Remember the parable of the unmerciful servant (Matt. 18:21-35). His master handed him over to tormentors. There is nothing as bad as being handed over to tormentors – demons, wicked spirits who kill systematically. They are wasters. At that point, the person starts degenerating. It is sad to say but the truth is that even at the very point of death, some people still refuse to forgive! Meanwhile, the person they are holding in unforgiveness is doing well, he or she might not even be aware of it. That is the terrible thing about drinking poison and expecting the person you are holding in unforgiveness to die. That is the greatest manifestation of foolishness. Please, search your heart.
Clean up so that you can receive the blessings of open heavens. The generous provisions that God has made for us will not be in vain in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. Ignorance.
Ignorance is a serious killer. Ignorance is lack of knowledge. All erroneous beliefs and all true beliefs not amounting to knowledge constitute ignorance. The Bible says, my people perish for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Knowledge is so important in the scriptures that it is mentioned severally – know, knowledge, knowing.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”John 8:32, KJV
The truth of God’s word liberates.
Ignorance will cause a person to take pain reliever when there is a hemorrhage. Ignorance will cause people to fight those whom God has sent to help them and embrace their foes. Ignorance will cause people to throw away the solution available in their hands and make them seek for help where there is none. They go in search of false prophets. It is ignorance to think that a person problem can have a place solution. It is ignorance that causes people to chase miracles when they are supposed to be miracle producers. It is ignorance that causes those who ought to be healing agents to start seeking for medical consultants. It manifests in so many ways.
Ignorance make people submit to those who can kill them and resent those who can help them. When we refer to sickness, it is not only physical or biological, it involves all manner of sicknesses.
