Sometime ago, the Lord let me to do a study on the mystery of un-accessed blessings. At the end of the study I had over two hundred reasons. The Holy Spirit led me to check for the percentage of the ones that are not caused by external forces. I discovered that over seventy percent are self inflicted. Man’s greatest enemy is man himself. Until people come to terms with that they cannot make progress. You can use prayer or religion to cover it, but God is not moved by religious prayers.
God desires truth in the inward part. It takes honesty to pray aright (Psa. 51:6). It takes humility to admit that you have missed it. Honesty plus humility; that is what will produce repentance. Repentance means to have a feeling of remorse, a contrite heart where you cry to God, turn away and turn to God.
Hosea 6:1 says,
“Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.”Hosea 6:1, KJV
We need to return. A lot of people have drifted. It is very difficult to help a prideful person living in denial.
If you want to be a disciple of Christ, it is your responsibility to take up the cross; you cannot shy away from it. People have been taught to sow but they fail to realize that it is not only money that you can sow. In fact, money is the least of the things you can sow. Your words are seeds, your obedience is a seed, the word of God is the greatest seed you can sow. Your actions, the meditations of your heart are seeds. Ideas are great seeds.
When I was running my MBA programme, I discovered that ideas are classified as assets, though they are intangible. Today, if you can concretize an idea that solves a problem that no one has ever solved, you will become a millionaire. That is the easiest way to be a millionaire. God can give it to you effortlessly. That is why children of God must arise. Without arising, there is no shining. Arise, shine, thy light has come, the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. While thick darkness covers the earth and gross darkness covers the people, God’s glorious light will shine through his people according to Isa. 60:1-2.
Take your God connection more serious than you have ever done in the past. It is the hand of God that will make the difference after all is said and done. Consolidate the God factor, it is the greatest success factor. When the hand of God is upon your life, no power can mess you up. Those who strike their heads on the rock will draw their own blood because rocks are not meant to bleed. It is, therefore, not about what the enemy is doing, it is about what you are doing. There are some very serious things that are lacking today and that is why the Church is not producing disciples but members. Where are the disciples? The first prescription for discipleship is self denial which only few people are ready to do. A lot of people are only after ‘what is in it for me’.
I did a study and discovered that Jesus devoted his time to only two classes of people: those who ministered to him and those who accepted his ministry. The only way to rise above the programme of satanic hardship in the world today is to look up so that the hand of God can lift you up while others are saying there is a casting down. When the hand of God is lifting you, no power can stop you so that you can smell heaven while you are still here.

- Thank God for giving us early rains, rain in the first month. It is a wonderful way to start the year. Thank you Lord for the showers of your blessings. Thank you for answering our prayers. Thank you for the grace to walk hand in hand with you, it is your doing, take all the glory in Jesus name.
