The quality of repentance, the quality of consecration determines the outcome of every prayer exercise. There are two dimensions of intercession: the priesthood and the kingship. Many times, people get into the kingship ministry (which involves – you shall decree a thing and it shall be established, binding and loosing), that is the one that everyone loves. But if you do that without proper consecration which is the priesthood where you really need to do ablutions then you have missed it.
Study the tabernacle in the wilderness. God used it to teach us how to approach him. Anyone who wants to approach God must understand that God is very holy, absolutely holy. You don’t stray into the presence of God; there are heavenly protocols. That is why you don’t just stray into the holy of holies. There is the outer court where a lot of ablutions are done, a lot of cleansing is done there and it is progressive.
By the time you want to enter the holy place where you find the golden candle stick, the table of incense and the table of showbread, you have to press. It is not every one that can enter the holy of holies (the inner sanctuary of the tabernacle and the temple where the Ark of the Covenant was kept). Only the high priest is qualified to get there once in a year to make intercession for the whole of Israel. It was separated from the rest of the tabernacle by a veil.
Before the high priest can enter the holy of holies, he had to wash himself and put on special clothing. The high priest would enter with a rope tied to his foot, the purpose of the rope is to retrieve his body in case he dies in the course of his duties within the holy of holies. He also had bells tied to the helm of his garment, whenever the people stopped hearing the sound of the bells, it was an indication that the priest had been slain.
Sin is serious. Unfortunately, a lot of people toy with it because it is no longer being emphasized. It is not about being sin conscious, it is about dealing with the issue and knowing that sin is like dust, you don’t want it but it has a way of attaching itself to you. It is dangerous. Anything that defiles will disrobe and open one up for attacks.
If you can truly consecrate, you will find a lot of your problems solved even before you get to the level of binding and loosing, your prayer will fly. That is one of the beautiful things about fasting; during the time of fasting, you subject your body, which has been tuned to the frequency of carnality always wanting to be satisfied, to strict discipline. You will tell the flesh that food will not rule in your life. Any life that is ruled by food will be ruined by it. The real food is the food of the spirit. The word of God is food and if you understand that, you will ingest it.
When you fast, you will be so free from the world that you will begin to receive direct signals from heaven. The time of fasting is a time of revelation. It is a time of divine communion. When you fast, flesh is subdued so that the spirit man can take over. Man is a spirit, he has a soul that dwells in a body.
You need to press into the holy of holies; the place where the Cherubs are. That is where the glory of God is revealed not on the surface. But a lot of people are satisfied with the outer court Christianity. That is where a lot of people operate from. Many people are also satisfied with being carnal; they are Christians all right but they are carnal; they have one foot in Egypt and the other outside of Egypt. They still desire the cucumber and garlic of Egypt. They fail to burn the bridge. Easy believism messages don’t help this matter because it presents a different gospel entirely. It makes people feel at ease with sin.
