Jesus is risen. God had to become man in order to save man, to make men to become children of God. He died for the sins he never committed. Meditate on this. He went through the worst of treatment that anyone could receive at that time. Death by crucifixion was such a terrible thing that no Roman citizen was allowed to go through it. The cross was such an abomination, it was such an accursed thing, it was such an excruciating thing. As a Roman citizen, you are automatically excluded. Jesus had to pass through it and to die. We give God the glory.
Jesus did it because he surrendered his will to the will of his Father, complete surrender. He stripped himself of every heavenly paraphernalia, all the glories of heaven and went through the agony of the cross. Today, when we talk about the cross, we are referring to the greatest sacrifice ever made.
When we talk about the blood of Jesus, we are talking about the blood of extreme sacrifice, so the cross is the demonstration of sacrifice. This revelation is important to knowing the secret of abundant life.
Abundant life is not in primitive accumulation as people teach today, it is not about the number of private jets you own. That is not abundant life but abundant accumulation.
Two thousand years have come and gone, there is no other name given to man by which man can be saved, no other name is greater than that name, so great that the same impact it had over two thousand years ago is still the same today and it will continue to have. This is life. The fact of his death is a fact of history. The fact of his resurrection is what has established Christianity a living faith. We are not serving a dead God, we are serving the living God. Death has been demystified.
The cross of our Lord Jesus Christ is the greatest symbol of comprehensive dominion over death. If you don’t know the cross, you have no life. Death has been stripped of all its power. Death has been demystified.
“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death, he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”Hebrews 2:14-15, KJV
If you catch this revelation, you can raise the dead. Jesus went to the pit to destroy the grave; he had to strip the grave of its power. The leviathan head of death was such a very terrible head that it used pit to traumatize man. Today, if you know the number of people that join secret cults because of the fear of death, then you will appreciate this scripture. For some, it is the fear of death that is the beginning of wisdom. All their lives, the only thing they dread is the fear of death. That fear is utterly destroyed by the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
