SEVEN DAYS COVENANT PRAYER PROGRAMME
“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour, that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.”Hebrews 2:9, KJV
When I meditate on the kind of love God has for man that made him to give his very best gift that a father can give that man may be what God wants him to be originally, I get so excited. That is the heart of a Father. You find this demonstrated in the cross of Christ; the salvation package. “Soteria”, greatest gift ever. When man fell, God could have wiped away completely the adamic stock but he decided to give man a second chance.
It is important to keep emphasizing this so that we can understand what we have. I have come to realize that one of reasons why some Christians behave the way they do is because of lack of knowledge of who they are in Christ, lack of knowledge of what they have in Christ and lack of knowledge of what Christ has done for them. Every lack of knowledge is ignorance. Ignorance makes people search for what was never lost and in the process are ready to do all manner of things, meanwhile God has made things very simple. He sent his Son to take away the sin of man.
Sin brought every calamity. Death was a natural precursor of sin, a natural consequence of sin. It was because of sin that death came. Man was not meant to die but because of disobedience, death came. Many people are still dying today because of disobedience; something as basic as being warned not to indulge in activities that can harm you, a lot of people still go ahead to indulge in them even when it is boldly written on the package that whoever takes such things will not live long, yet they damn the consequence. Instructions are written to lower the speed limit here yet some people go ahead with full blast above it.
One of the things that man acquired in Eden when man fell that is still rubbishing the original blue print of God for man, God’s intention to give man the best is disobedience.
Pray –
- Father, please help me. Grant that no trace of disobedience will be found in me this year. Do not allow me to be careless. Do not allow me to be disobedient. Help me to optimize what you have for me in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, help me to know who I am in Christ Jesus, what I have in Christ and what Christ has done for me; help me to celebrate it in the name of Jesus.
- Help me to be led by your Spirit, the Spirit of life in the name of Jesus. Help me to walk with you, to be all you want me to be in the name of Jesus.
- Empower me by your Spirit to live above sin in the name of Jesus. Thank you blessed Lord, in Jesus name.
