CONFRONTING THE AGENTS OF DEVALUATION VII

3.King Jehoshaphat.
His story is painful. He almost got killed because of wrong association; he decided to team up with someone whom God had earmarked for destruction. He eventually escaped with his life but he still went ahead and teamed up with Ahaziah and ignored the counsel of Micaiah, a true man of God. He never learnt from his past mistake. He started so well. Be careful of wrong associations. You must be careful not to contact a strange fire.

“And after this did Jehoshaphat king of Judah join himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very wickedly.”
2 Chronicles 20:35, KJV
Pray –

Be careful of whom you follow.

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.”
Psalm 1:1-4, KJV

Verse 6 says, “For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction” (NLT). The way of the wicked is programmed destruction. If you decide to follow one who has been marked for destruction, what happens to you? If you have a pastor that cannot correct you, please change.

Pray –

4. King Amaziah.
2 Chro. 25:2. Amaziah served God but with an imperfect heart. It is possible to serve God with an imperfect heart. How will such people end? They are part of the people that Jesus will tell, I know you not, depart from me, you workers of iniquity. Once you turn away from the revealed will of God, whatever you do will not be reckoned with. It is no longer God’s. May we not run this race in vain in the mighty name of Jesus.
