Gal. 6:7, “Be not deceived. God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap”. How can you carry the Bible to hell? What will you tell God? Is it that you didn’t hear the bride’s message? If your heart is not there – in the things of God, you are just joking. Let’s mean business with God.
Like Zacchaeus, let’s desire to have an encounter with Jesus in the course of this programme. Zacchaeus was not a perfect man but he had a right spirit. That is the kind of person that Jesus seeks, those who stretch, though not perfect. The fact that you are a carnal Christian today does not mean you cannot become a spiritual Christian tomorrow if you are ready to change. Some people are not just sinners but they enjoy sinning. They are not ready to change.
Pray –
- Father, please help me to mean business with you. For the rest of my life, I want to be a product of divine encounter. Please help me in Jesus name.
Let this period be a time of introspection for you. If you know that you are facing the wrong direction, don’t rationalize it, cry out to God for help like me. When I didn’t understand the entire thing, I decided to seek for truth. I missed it. On my twenty fifth birthday, however, I decided to take stock of my life and discovered that I was facing the wrong direction. On realizing my mistake, I dusted my Bible and threw away all the books I was reading while seeking the truth and cried out to God for help. That was when Jesus appeared to me and decided to show me that he is real. It was a turning point in my life and I give God all the glory.
You must mean business with God. Don’t play games with your Christianity. Don’t remain on one spot. If you are really not progressing, you are going backwards, there is nothing like stagnation just as there is nothing like neutrality. You are either for or against. There is no vacuum in the realm of the spirit. Anywhere the Holy Spirit is not allowed to take charge, other spirits will take over. If you are one of the people that have not broken the chains of Egypt and still enjoying the pleasures of sin and you are in the Church of a holy God, what are you waiting for? Remember that every moment takes you closer to eternity.
I dropped everything I was supposed to drop and burnt the bridge when I realized my mistake. One of the most painful habits I had to drop was playing lawn tennis. If I could drop lawn tennis, I can drop anything.
Pray –
- Father, please help me. Where do I need to make amends? Show me what to drop so that your light will shine, so that I can have an encounter with you. Help me not to carry the bible to hell. Help me not to live a pretentious life.
- Make me a spiritual Christian. Put the desire to do your will in my heart as you did with your pattern Son. Help me, O Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
