“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, but is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.”2 Timothy 1:9-10, KJV
The gospel is good news. When people don’t understand this, they trivialize it. Think about a life without the good news of what Jesus came to do on earth. Think about a life without Christ. Such a life is empty and in order to fill up the void, they create noise to assure themselves that they are alive.
The worst time of my life was the period when I decided to seek the “truth” for about five years. I was so empty. The life of an unbeliever is empty, full of fear, it is a drag, it is shallow, it is void. The devil will always suggest to them things they should do and so they keep chasing other things. There is no fulfillment outside the Lord. There is a hole in the heart of every man which only God can fill. That is why if you have found Christ and still chasing other things, then, you have not found the real Christ. If you have one on one encounter with Jesus Christ, every doubt dissolves.
I give all the glory to God that I found the truth and have not shifted from it. I am no longer a “wannabe”. The only thing I want to be is what God has made me to be. The only thing I want to do is to do his will and finish it. I thank God that I have found and discovered the purpose for which he called me and I am at the centre of it marching forward.
True progress is locating yourself where God has placed you and accelerating in the direction of heaven not accelerating in the wrong direction. That is not success. A lot of people are succeeding to fail. You are not a success if you miss God. May you not miss Jesus Christ.
