CELEBRATING THE PRECIOUS HOLY SPIRIT III – CONT
THE WORKS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE LIFE OF THE BELIEVER (CONT)
- The Holy Spirit imparts life. When the Spirit is dwelling within us, he will impart life, health, strength and vigour to our body. Living in the spirit is a health-producing exercise. It will improve your physical body and increase your lifespan. Many sicknesses have their origin in the spirit but even the one that is not spiritual can be healed spiritually.
- He gives us power for service. Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” It is dangerous to jump out and start witnessing without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. The Greek word for power is ‘dunamis’, the other side of it is ‘exousia’. This means authority; delegated power. So, the Holy Spirit gives us dynamic power from which we derived the word dynamic – which is power to keep on going in the things of God. Many times, when I don’t feel like praying or ministering but just manage to go, once the microphone is handed over to me, it just begins to flow. The word ‘dynamo is another electrical engineering word, and it is a machine that produces continuous generation of power; a machine which generates a consistent and continuing supply of power. Pray – Thank God for the energy generation that he has implanted in us and left for us. Father, help me to make the most of it this year, help me to make the most of what the Holy Spirit contains. Let my walk with the Holy Spirit be beneficial to me in all ramifications in the name of Jesus. Father, I thank you, I bless and magnify your name, thank you for loving me so much and blessing me with your Spirit. I ask you O God for grace to walk with the Holy Spirit limitlessly in all ramifications in every area of my life as you continue to empower me. May I never lack of your life and of your power in the name of Jesus.
- He empowers our prayer. Jude 20, “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.” Without the baptism of the Holy Ghost, you will find it very difficult to pray continuously for four hours. Eph. 6:18, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.” Rom. 8:26-27, “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” (NIV). There is a buildup that comes with praying in the Holy Ghost. If you can settle down and pray in tongues for hours, by the time you get out from there, you don’t need anyone to tell you that something has broken lose. Praying in tongues gets difficult problems solved. Most of the songs that the Lord gives me come after I must have prayed in tongues for hours, it can only be possible through the power of the Holy Ghost. Place value on this, make the most of it.
