DOMINION OVER DARKNESS (PART II)

This story is to buttress the fact that the period between 12am and 3am is a very sensitive time because that is the time that agents of darkness operate mostly and the best time to confront them. Take note that the angel of death was not sent to Egypt until it was midnight. It was at midnight that Jesus was arrested in the garden of Gethsemane. Look at Matt. 26:35-56. There is an hour that is called the hour of darkness. Greatest deliverances are connected to that transition hour. Read Psa. 119:62 “At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments”. That is the right time for us to get up and connect to God so that the light of God will shine. That is the right time for us to get into spiritual warfare. That is the best time to confront darkness and take possession of the day. That is the best time to align with the greatest light that can be; God Himself is light. What we find today is that the time that the children of God are supposed to arise is the time they sleep the most. By the time they wake up, the enchanters have already finished enchanting into the day. That is the reason why most Christians are behaving like those who have been seduced. That is the reason why many argue about what is revealed in the light. There is so much darkness even in the Church today. When people are in darkness, they will leave a higher calling to settle for a lesser calling; when people are in the dark, they eat their seed and expect a harvest; when people are in the dark, they will leave a very good opportunity behind and travel abroad in search of greener pastures. When people are in the dark, they enthrone darkness and expect light to shine; when people are in the dark, they crucify the messiah and set Barabbas, a murderer, free, when people are in the dark, they will throw away the word of God from schools and expect their children to be transformed. Most institutions today have been taken over by darkness, the judiciary, the legislature and so on. It is our responsibility to push darkness away. We must learn to fly on the wings of the Holy Ghost when the agents of darkness are flying on the wings of witchcraft.

Turn on the light. Greatest deliverances are connected to the transition time; “at midnight, I will arise” Psa. 119:62. From today refuse to allow darkness to take over your day. Wake up before the enchanters and take control. We can push darkness away. Paul and Silas knew how to drive darkness away when in the dark murky Macedonian prison where they were thrown for doing the will of God. The fact that you are doing the will of God does not mean that you will not be persecuted. It is not easy to be a child of God in the times that we have entered. If you are not ready to be misunderstood, don’t even aspire to be a child of God. True Christianity is not in title or in ecclesiastical ladder, it is in fruit bearing, “by their fruits ye shall know them”. Your fruit is either darkness or light. In the Macedonian prison, Paul and Silas sang. There is no prison for a man who has learnt to connect to heaven. At midnight, they prayed and sang praises unto God, their voices were heard by the other prisoners and the Lord sent a great earthquake. Their chains were broken, darkness was judged and there was light in the prison. Acts 16:25-26.

There are certain challenges in your life that will not give until you learn to wake up in the night, until you learn to fly on the wings of the Holy Ghost early in the morning. Almost all the powerful encounters I have ever had occurred within the hours of 12am and 3am – a period we tagged ‘early morning conference with Jesus’.

You must learn how to ascend. You can only confront darkness from above; you speak down. If you are not looking down when you are commanding the devil, then you are not high enough. You have to get up to sitting together with Christ at the very right hand side of God in the heavenly places, far above thrones, above dominion, above principalities, above powers. That is the position where God wants us to be. He raised us together to sit together in Christ, by Christ. Through Christ, we are more than conquerors. In him, we live; we move and have our being. Dominion over darkness is possible only through Christ. We are the light of the world. There is not enough darkness in the whole world to stop the glory of God from shining through us. Christ in us is the hope of glory. “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you”. Luke 10:19. “Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth is bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven”. Matt. 18:18. “Bind” means to disallow. The world is upside down today because the Church has been allowing too many things. What you tolerate, you cannot change.

How can the Church be frolicking with darkness and expect the world to be transformed? Is there any way you are frolicking with darkness and expecting light to shine? We are the salt and the light of the world, a city set on the hill that cannot be hidden. We cannot lose our saltness. Salt is for preservation, salt is for taste. If you take away light, there will be darkness.
