BLESSED BEYOND CURSE (PART 8A) – HE WAS WOUNDED FOR ME
Isa. 5:3-5, “He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely, he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did not esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
Take note of the issue of rejection in this scripture. Jesus was rejected and despised so that I may be accepted. The issue of rejection was settled on the cross at Calvary. When you apply for a job and you are not accepted, it is rejection. If someone promised to marry you and later reneged on that promise, it is rejection. If you speak and nobody listens, it is a sign of rejection. The spirit of rejection is one of the very active spirits in the world today. But this has been taken care of on the cross.
In addition, Christ was wounded so that we don’t have to carry any wound anymore. Quite a number of people are carrying various degrees of wound which they cannot even share with anybody. This was settled on the cross over 2000 years ago. He was wounded so that I can be totally liberated from every wound. God is very purposeful, everything God does is for a purpose, he is extremely purposeful. Everything God created, he created for a purpose – the eyes to see, the mouth to speak, the hand to touch and handle and so on.
- He was wounded so that I can be totally liberated and free from Sickness. Exo. 15:26, “And said, if thou wilt diligently harken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.” The word of God is clear that ample provision has been made for our healings and not only that alone but for our health also. We can actually walk in divine health all the days of our life. Jesus was wounded so that by his stripes we will be healed. We can transmit all our pains and sicknesses and lay them on the altar; we can drop them at the very feet of Jesus and receive in exchange, healing. There is a healing anointing that flows from his wounds not only for physical healing but emotional healing, relational and so on.
PRAY;- Heavenly father thank you for the wonderful provisions you have made for my well being here and hereafter. Jesus I celebrate your finished work on the cross of calvary and appropriate the healing anointing that flows from you to every facet of my life. I proclaim that by Your strips I am healed. Amen.
