2019 OPERATION 18-18 (DAY 4) – A GOSPEL OF PURIFICATION
Purity is power. Without holiness no one can see God. God is holy; we must have this at the back of our mind whenever we approach him. You don’t just stroll into the presence of God without reverential fear of him; you must know that you are approaching a thrice holy God. At a time of fasting and praying, we need to look inwards to know where we might have accumulated some spiritual dust. Are there areas where our spiritual garments have been defiled? We must deal with the issue of defilement. God has made generous provision for his children to be pure; body, soul and spirit especially in the heart. Your mind is your thinking self. In the Bible, heart and mind are used interchangeably. God desires that his children be robed in sparkling spiritual apparel. Eccl. 9:8 says, “Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment.”
Eze. 36:25-27 made it clear that God has made great provision for us. “Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.” God is stepping in to do the cleansing. It is not going to be a passive but active holiness that proceeds from the spirit; the spirit of God in us will help us to love what he loves and to hate what he hates. This is the true meaning of being born again; a complete spiritual rebirth removing the heart of stone that we acquired in Eden. God wants us to be rebranded. That is why he sent his Son.
PRAY –
- Lord, I am happy that your word has specified the comprehensive transformation of my life. I celebrate your word in Eze. 36:25-27. Thank you for your promises, thank you O God for your desire that I be clean and that you will sprinkle clean water upon me, Lord, I receive your sprinkling. Clean me up completely; purify me comprehensively in the name of Jesus. cleanse me from every filthiness, remove every trace of idolatry, remove every filth, give me your new spirit, remove the heart of stone and put in me the heart of flesh; put within me your spirit in the mighty name of Jesus. Help me to walk in your way and to keep your judgments and to do them in Jesus’ name.
It is very important that you visit this scripture whenever you are fasting because this is where the miracle of rebirth is done. It is until your spirit is exchanged for the spirit of God, the Holy Spirit indwelling you, that you will begin to have dominion over Mr flesh, over sin, over self, over satan and all his demons and his principalities, it is only then that you will have thorough desire to do the will of God. When God desires to clean us up, he does it comprehensively.
Jer. 33:8, “And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.” With iniquity in your heart, the Lord cannot hear your prayer. There are certain things you must do not because it is convenient for you to do them but because you don’t want to break your relationship with God and open up yourself to attacks and then a journey that ordinarily should take thirty minutes begin to take thirty months or years. It is so easy to commit iniquity and get trapped and yet embark on one hundred days fasting thinking that your fasting will move God. You are just embarking on hunger strike if there is unforgiveness and bitterness in your heart. You are the one that will do this by yourself.
Unforgiveness is a padlock; maximum blockade which the devil uses as an easy trap. Bitterness brings defilement and cuts short the grace according to Heb. 12:15. It is true that we are in the dispensation of grace but there are certain things you can do to make the grace evaporate. Grace is never a licence to sin; grace is an empowerment to do ordinarily what you would not have been able to do. These are the technical aspects of our walk with God that many people overlook.Holiness is not passive, it is an active thing. You are actively involved in it but you must come from above because you are connected to the one who is above all. Don’t allow yourself to be dragged down and messed up by circumstances that want to pin you down. One of the things that the devil uses to keep people down is unforgiveness. My greatest desire at this time of fasting is that we will come so close to God that we will experience him and that none of our prayers will be hindered. When God’s hand is with you there is no limit to the extent you can win. FROM TODAY YOU WILL ALWAYS BE AHEAD OF THE ENEMY IN JESUS’ NAME. AMEN
