THE WONDERS OF HEAVEN IV
4. The wonder of what heaven is like. A place of indescribable beauty where the streets are laid with gold of inestimable carat quite unlike the gold you have on earth. Everything about heaven is glorious. 1 Cor. 2:9, “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” God himself will wipe away tears from all faces. Apart from the glories of heaven, it is a place of mansions. Jesus talked about the mansions in John 14:2-3, “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” This is the leader who knows the way and that is the reason why I am following him. Never follow a leader who has not defined his destination or who doesn’t know the way. Some prophets actually confessed that they didn’t know the way. If you follow a leader who is going nowhere you will end up nowhere. That is why the Church must return to leading people to heaven as the primary purpose. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” Matt. 6:33. Unfortunately, people are seeking first the kingdom of mammon and its unrighteousness. Show me who you are following and I will tell you where you will end. Show me what you are passionately pursuing and I will tell you what you love. If you pursue mammon you might not have it because what you chase will always be ahead of you.
5. Heaven is a place of rejoicing; real and genuine rejoicing. Rev. 5:12-14, “Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.” It is a place of ceaseless worship that is why we need to learn how to worship right from here and be tuned to the frequency of heaven. Don’t wait until you get there to learn how to worship. Worship is not what you do, worship is who you are. May your life be worshipful in the name of Jesus. For a worshiper, every assignment in the kingdom of God will be viewed from the perspective of worship and it will be borne out of the love that you have for Jesus – who he is and what he has done for you.
