Today, people no longer have reverential fear of God so how can they honour people? If you don’t fear God how can you respect your pastor? There are so many “Alexander the coppersmith” (2 Tim 4:14) in the Church today. The Apostle of grace had to pray a dangerous prayer against him. 5. “He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not”. Pray – 6. After you have gotten it right with God, the next set of qualifications will be your horizontal relationship with your neighbours. God is interested not only in our getting it right with him vertically, that is our relationship with him, but you must also get it right in your relationship with your neighbours. When you put the vertical and horizontal together, what you have is the cross. The only symbol that encapsulates every Christian virtue is the cross. Take me to the cross and I will find my way home. 3. “And speaketh the truth in his heart”. This is the climax. No ungodliness. No crookedness. Walk uprightly. Work righteousness and let there be truth in the garden of your heart. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth. There must be no trace of lie in you, no lying spirit because wherever you find a lying spirit, there is distortion. That person has already collected one of the seven seals of Lucifer. You don’t speak truth because it is convenient, you speak truth because it is the nature of God; it is part and parcel of you. If you are going into ministry, please ensure that you have the call of God upon your life, secondly, ensure that you have a source of income, work and trust God to bless the work of your hand, don’t depend on another person’s income for your livelihood. That is the easiest way to fail in ministry. Apostle Paul was a tent maker; that was why he was able to deliver the message God gave him unhindered. That is the prescription, otherwise, people will try to control you. Is it the sheep that leads the shepherd or the shepherd that leads the sheep? Have you ever seen a shepherd of lions…
