SANCTIFY YOURSELF 2D

2 Cor. 6:14, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” There is a law called the law of vicarious liability. There are consequences for our actions. There are personal consequences for personal actions while there are corporate consequences for corporate actions. The sin of one person can destroy the destiny of a nation. Just because Adolf Hitler lived, six million Jews died! When I see the alignments of Christians today, I scream. Something has gone terribly wrong.

Is the scripture – do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, only applicable in marriage? Was it written in connection with marriage? Why then does it cease to exist when we are about to cast our votes? Should a child of God cast his vote for an evil person or even belong to an evil platform? It is sin to go against the revealed will of God. Sin in Greek is ‘hamartia’ which means to ‘miss the mark’. If God sets a mark and you decide to ignore it and set your own instead, you have missed it.

Rev. 2:2, “I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars.” One of the easiest labels to carry today is Pastor. Pastor is not a title. Evil corrupts in order to consume. I hate evil because I know the nature of it. Evil is like a Frankenstein monster; it contaminates in order to consume. Things don’t get better anywhere evil is tolerated.

The Church is not meant to be a political platform. Jesus was never a politician. You mix up, you mess up! Every decision has a price. A pastor can preach all through the day, his preaching does not really change you, it is what you receive from the message that you will act upon. It is better for pastors to continue to warn the flock. Elders must not be wary of sounding warnings. The instructions you obey determine the future you create. It is very dangerous to block ones’ ears to the instructions of wisdom because it does not align with what you have already made up your mind to do. God views it as rebellion and at that level, he hands off. That is one of the things that man learnt in the Garden of Eden.

• Dear Heavenly Father, I worship and adore you. I bless and magnify your precious name in Jesus’ name. I ask for the grace to completely submit to your instructions of wisdom in every facet of my life in Jesus’ name.
