PROPHETIC PRAISE III
“And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Ebenezer unto Ashdod. When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon. And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again. And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him”.
1 Samuel 5:1-4 KJV
The Philistines defeated Israel and captured the ark of God, the manifest presence of God. This defeat was brought about by the ecclesiastical sin of Eli’s sons, failure of parenthood, abdication of responsibility including failure of Eli’s children to comply with instructions. Today, raising godly children in a sinful world is a very great task, it is not easy at all.
Take note that whenever the Church fails, there is bound to be national consequences. The direction of the Church determines the direction of a nation. That is why the healing of every nation must start from the Church. The healing of the Church must start from the home. The healing of the home must start from man.
Like the first Adam, a lot of men are abdicating their responsibility. Every tragedy in the world today could be traced to the failure of Adam to keep an instruction. It is not wise to play down on sin. A lot of preachers shy away from it because the moment they start preaching against sin, you will start seeing empty seats in the Church. People no longer want to hear the truth but that is what the Bible says will happen in the end time.
Evil is dangerous, you don’t wish it away, you confront it because it contaminates to consume. The very ark of God was captured by the Philistines because of failure of direction. That day marked the end of Eli’s lineage. Meditate on this – the ark, the very physical representation of God was captured. You may ask: where was God? God allowed it so that he can teach them a lesson in humility. The Philistines carried the ark to the home of their god so that it will be a battle of gods. The battle of the end time is the battle of gods and the almighty God will always prevail. By the time the Philistines returned in the morning, Dagon had fallen. Every dagon in your life will fall in the name of Jesus. Dagon represents anything that challenges your testimony. It is anything that does not want you to be all that God wants you to be. It represents anything that seeks your worship, anything that plays god in your life and anything that idolatry represents. Dagon is anything that an evil altar represents. A lot of issues in the lives of people are issues that are tied to one evil altar or the other.
The battle of the end time is not only the battle of gods but the battle of altars. That is part of the reason why you must not align with an evil altar. Everyone you come across is an altar. I am an altar, the temple of the precious Holy Spirit. My body is the temple for the Holy Spirit redeemed, cleansed, sanctified by the blood of Jesus. I love reminding satan of this. Whenever he tries to mess up with me, I make this declaration – my body is the temple for the Holy Spirit, redeemed, cleansed and sanctified by the blood of Jesus. Satan, you have no part in me, no power over me, no unsettled claims against my life, all have been settled by the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross, therefore, I command you, loose your hold, in Jesus’ name.
