PRAYING INTO THE COVENANTS IV

4. Covenant of health and healing.
Health is wealth. God is faithful to his covenants. Some people pride themselves on having family medical consultants. You can live the rest of your life in divine health. It is possible. That is God’s plan for you. He is a covenant keeper. When sickness comes knocking remind it that you are a covenant child of God and that your covenant with God is covenant of divine health.

During the covid-19 epidemic, a member of this ministry who works as a Lab Scientist caught it in the course of duty. I was a bit shaken at first and had a lot of concern for her younger sister who was living with her. As I was praying for her the Holy Spirit reminded me that we have a covenant of health and healing with God. Immediately the devil sent that evil alert, I called her and told her that we have a covenant of health and healing with God. To the glory of God, the sister was completely healed. During the second wave of the epidemic, all her colleagues who took vaccination caught it a second time except our sister who never took the vaccine in the first place. God preserved her. There is power in covenants. If you have a covenant with God, it is no longer about you. All you need do is to keep your own part of the covenant. A lot of Christians are suffering in the midst of plenty. The Bible says,

“Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?”

Jeremiah 8:22

When those who should be healing agents become sick, what happens? Something is wrong. I have conducted a lot of research on why Christians suffer. The Bible says, my people perish for lack of knowledge not because of the activities of the evil one. If you study the kind of choices that people make on a daily basis, you will discover the reason why they are afflicted. Prov. 4:7 says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding”. Wisdom is the correct application of knowledge for one’s own personal benefit and for the benefit of others. A lot of Christians are too careless; careless in the way they talk, careless in the way they act, careless in the way they relate with others, careless in the way they live. You are becoming what you are eating. A lot of people eat carelessly and yet they want to live long. When Muslims want to break their fast, they use fruits but not so with Christians who prefer to break their fast with soft drinks and meat pie or sausage rolls. May you not eat what will kill you in the name of Jesus. Do an analysis of what you have eaten today, will it promote health? If you continue to eat unhealthy meals how long will it take before you visit a doctor? Let your food be your medicine. Those who eat junk food cannot escape certain ailments.

PRAY –

• Everlasting and most merciful Father, I worship and adore you. I thank you for the generous provisions you have made for my well-being here, and hereafter. Grant me the grace to make wise choices that will keep me in perfect health all the days of my life in Jesus’ name, amen.
