THE FOUNDATION OF GIVING 1B

I didn’t go to the theological seminary to learn how to preach. It is possible to preach beautiful messages without knowing God. I went there to learn to live. I stand to testify decades later, that the Bible is the compendium of life. The purpose of this message is not to motivate you but to show you how to live right, how to be a true child of God, how to be a true worshipper of Jehovah, the only living God.

What matters most is your relationship with God through Christ, the incarnate Word. What are you making out of the revealed will of God? Living each moment requires walking towards becoming what God intends for you to be.

Pray –

• Lord, from this message, I want a change in my life. Open my eyes to behold wondrous things from your word. Make me a true worshipper indeed, in spirit and in truth. Set me apart to live for you in the name of Jesus.
• Let your name be magnified in my life. Help me not to play games with eternity but Lord, help me to redeem the time and to make the most of the opportunity you have granted unto me to be here.
• Lord, let this word not stand against me on the day of judgment. But help me, Lord, to put to use what I am about to learn. Let it produce wonderful fruits – a hundred fold in my life and in the life of anyone who comes in contact with it in the mighty name of Jesus.
• Make my life more impactful than it has ever been; more fruitful than it has ever been, more successful than it has ever been, more graceful, more joyful and more blessed than it has ever been in Jesus name.

This message is so important because foundation determines everything; foundation determines the glory. Foundation determines the size. Foundation determines the height. Foundation determines the strength. Foundation determines how far. Foundation determines how well. Foundation is everything!

The foundation of right giving is worship. Every true worshipper of God is a great giver but not every great giver is a true worshipper of God. No other foundation can any other person lay than that which is laid which is Jesus Christ, the incarnate word, the word that was made flesh. He is the Lamb of God that was slain before the foundation of the world.

The true meaning of worship is correct placement of value in your relationship with God. At the centre of the placement of this value is love. True worship can therefore be defined as being so fanatically in love with God that the idea of substituting that love for anything else does not even remotely exist. For the rest of my life, that is the kind of people I want to raise.

You cannot really pretend about what you are chasing. What you chase is actually what you worship. Even if you gather a large crowd and preach all manner of messages to excite them, if you are not a worshipper, what you have succeeded in doing is to raise idolaters.

It is so easy to pervert worship and wherever worship is perverted, what you produce is idolatry. Worship means worth-ship; placement of value. You will notice immediately that there is a very close relationship between worship and value. There is a very close relationship between worship and giving. One of the greatest universal measure of value is money. But that is not the only thing you can give. What you worship is what you treasure. What you treasure is what you value. What you value is what you wish to pay attention to and that is what you want to spend your time, resources and think about the most.
