AFTER EASTER – A SEASON II

The season after Easter is:

1. The season of celebration of Jesus Christ, the risen Saviour of mankind.

“Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared; and certain others with them, and they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.”

Luke 24:1-7, KJV

This is the period to celebrate the risen Christ. This is the time to focus on what God has done for us through his Son, Jesus Christ. This is the time to celebrate the resurrection anointing. We know, according to Romans 8:11 that the Spirit that resurrected Jesus Christ indwells us and that same Spirit will quicken our mortal body. This is the time to allow the quickening ministry of the precious Holy Spirit to work in us. I like the word, quickening, it is from a Hebrew word ‘Chayah’ which means to give life. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of life; if you remove the Holy Spirit, there is no life. What differentiates a living Church from a dead Church is the move of the Holy Spirit. The moment you start doing your own program, the Holy Spirit will withdraw. Your Church can run on programs but God is not there. May the Lord have mercy on us in the name of Jesus.

It is only the Holy Spirit that can give life, that can quicken, that can bring back to life that which was dead. It is the same Spirit that resurrected Jesus Christ that will resurrect every child of God who is connected to the Holy Spirit. This is the time to allow the river of life to flow; wherever that river flows, there will be deposits. Death could not hold Jesus Christ captive. The leviathan head of death has been dismantled. Jesus routed principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this world and made a public show of them. He took them out, he dealt with that wicked head of death. Imagine life without Christ. Imagine life without hope; hope of resurrection. That was what happened until Jesus went to the grave and dismantled and demystified death.

Death could not hold him captive and that is why it should not hold you captive. Before the death of Christ and resurrection, it was the fear of death that was the beginning of wisdom for many. One of the greatest problems of man is that man lives, man talks, man behaves, man acts, man does everything as if he will never die. Unlike Jesus who knew why he came. John 4:34 says, “my meat is to do the will of him who has sent me and to finish it.” Very purposeful life!

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

• From today, your life will be very purposeful. You will not major on minor issues. You will fix your eyes on the ball, the enemy will not dribble you anymore.
• Every goal the enemy has ever scored against you will be cancelled in the name of Jesus. You will begin to score strategic goals in the mighty name of Jesus.
• Receive supernatural empowerment to pray without ceasing in the powerful name of Jesus.
• Receive divine empowerment to hear the right music and to sing the right song.
• The devil will never have an upper hand again in your life.
• Your life will not be wasted in the name of Jesus. Herod’s hand shall wither in the name of Jesus.
